Excellent treatment from Mr Malek who treated me with care, concern and respect. Made me feel that I mattered to him as an individual and not just another patient. I felt confident with him and with the operation I had. I am recovering well and my follow up appointment re-assured me of my recovery. I also had excellent advice from the physio Mr Murphy.

I have recently been under the care of Mr Malek after breaking my arm. What a lovely, caring man with a positive attitude to recovery. He listened to me and discussed my fracture in terms that were easy to understand and I would definitely recommend him.

Mr Malek and his team replaced my right knee on Saturday morning and I was discharged on Monday afternoon. From the beginning to the end Mr Malek was so nice to me and my wife ,he explained everything I needed to know in layman’s terms and he was so friendly . When I was talking to any of the staff at the hospital everyone said he was such a nice man .

I found Mr Malek to be very caring and he was prepared to listen to what I said about my hip problems. Nothing seemed too much trouble for him. He was also nice and friendly and really put me at ease. What did surprise me and my family was that a few days after I came home, he rang our house to enquire how I was coping and whether I was in any pain or discomfort. This personal contact meant a lot to me, and I really appreciated his concern. When I went back for my check-up I made sure I heartily thanked Mr Malek for his care and attention, during and after my hip replacement. I would not hesitate if I was to go under his care in the future. Thankyou Mr Malek.

I recently had a left hip replacement, at Spire Yale Hospital. The operation was done by Mr.Malek and his team. Six weeks on, and everything is superb. I would like to add, that I cannot thank everybody concerned enough, for a really successful outcome, complete with aftercare and Physiotherapy. Spire Yale really did look after me in all respects. The visiting times are also excellent.

Prof. Ib Malek joined BCUHB at Wrexham Maelor Hospital in January 2018 as Consultant Trauma and orthopaedic surgeon specialising in Lower Limb arthroplasty (Hip and Knee Replacement). He completed his specialist orthopaedic training from Wales training programme. He successfully completed 18 months fellowship at Adelaide, South Australia from Central Adelaide Health Network and prestigious Calvary Wakefield Hospital. His main interests are improving outcome following primary hip and knee arthroplasty, Enhanced Recovery After Surgery, Computer Assisted Orthopaedic Surgery (CAOS) and revision hip and knee Arthroplasty procedures.
