After a long wait because of the pandemic, added to domestic factors, my hip had deteriorated into a serious state, so much so that the leg was struggling to function at all. Despite this, as a result of the hip replacement carried out by Mr Tai, I was able to walk without a stick in less than six weeks and am now looking forward to leading an active life with family and friends, something that would have seemed impossible two years ago. The recovery has been smooth, and much faster than I would have expected, due I am sure to Mr Tai’s expertise. My whole hearted thanks to both him and his team.

I had a Total Knee Replacement 8 weeks ago and I’m now pain free and walking quite well.
Because I was very nervous and anxious because of a previous operation not related to Mr Tai, he treated me with a lot of reassurance and kindness explaining everything that was going to happen regarding my Operation and although I was nervous on the day of my Operation there was no need to be because Mr Tai was there to reassure me about everything.m, and to be quite truthful he has restored my faith in Hospital’s and Operations and will be quite happy to go ahead when the time come’s to have Mr Tai to do a Knee Replacement on my other knee

I had a new hip fitted by Mr Tai. It has all gone extremely well, in just a few weeks I’m pretty much back to normal movement, looking forward to getting back on the golf course!
The whole treatment went exactly how Mr Tai said it would.

Profile
I am an experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust, who specialises in adult hip and knee arthroplasty and the management of traumatic injuries. I consult privately at Pinehill Hospital in Hitchin, and One Hatfield Hospital.
Having studied medicine at St Mary's Hospital medical school, I underwent specialist training on the highly regarded Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore, Specialist Registrar rotation. I then continued my sub specialty training in adult hip and knee replacement surgery on the prestigious year-long fellowship with the Specialist Orthopaedic Group in Sydney, Australia. During this fellowship, I was trained in the latest arthroplasty techniques, including the direct anterior approach to the hip, computer navigated hip replacements and patient specific implants.
I have completed a second fellowship in complex trauma at University Hospital, Walsgrave - one of the busiest major trauma centres in the United Kingdom.
I have published a number of articles related to my areas of sub-specialty interest and I have written book chapters on traumatic injuries.
