Firstly my dissatisfaction; does not refer in any way to the staff at the sharp end in the operating theatre. They are fantastic. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ As are the staff in after care eg physio.
After care on the ward was abysmal. After 24 hours I called my husband to take me home as I did not feel save. I wrote to Pine Hill after my experience & received a full apology and some compensation.
Food was excellent.
This report refers to my second stay at this hospital for a full hip replacement. My previous stay 3 years ago was wonderful.
Excellent service and staff
I found all staff at all times, responsive, helpful and kind
I have been treated with care and attention at Pinehill as have other members of my family.
If I need further treatment I would be very happy to return there.
Excellent care and support the staff were lovely and friendly and really made me feel safe and secure when I was feeling very vulnerable. Thank you for amazing care!
All the staff including the receptionist, caterers , cleaners , day and night staff were so kind, helpful and just downright amazing.

I have booked MRI scan ages ago… and I can’t describe how upset I am! I have explained myself to my GP in detail and my problem with a claustrophobia! He then assured me that it isn’t a “tunnel” but a ring bigger than CT Scan! And showed me some images on the screen. I have received a text from PineHill Hospital (24miles alway from where I live) if I needed something closer I would have to wait at least 20 weeks extra! I had to take it but the nurse was surprised that my GP lied to me because it is a “coffin” type of tunnel not a “ring” and gave me some random date that happens to be on my birthday. All I know is that I supposed to go there this Sunday on the 18th of August 2024 instead. She told me that I will receive a text with a date and time included ? Instead I have received this “This is a text reminder that your MRI scan taking place this week will be performed at PINEHILL HOSPITAL, HITCHIN, SG4 9QZ. Kind regards” from some normal mobile number +44 7786 209254 that no one is answering your texts etc. No Time, no date!!! “This week” what is that?! I have tried calling 30 times + no answer! Yesterday I have searched for some images of MRI in Hitchin and I can see that it is exactly the same one that I was trying to avoid! I was begging them to give me a better option than a mobile MRI - much smaller one!
WASTE OF TIME!!!! I was stressing for days thinking that finally some how I can get it done and find the reason for my horrible neck pain that I’m dealing with for over two years straight! I am on painkiller pills each and every day! Unable to sleep or function as a normal person! And this? This is some next level of stupidity! Why would you do that? I wonder if they ever listen to anything that patients says?! RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!
The whole experience and my procedure and pre and post operation was excellent
The hospital facilities were clean, tidy & well maintained. The staff were caring and friendly. I felt looked after. They were always available, and offered a good chose of food on the menu. I was particularly impressed with the physio mobility classes.
