I have booked MRI scan ages ago… and I can’t describe how upset I am! I have explained myself to my GP in detail and my problem with a claustrophobia! He then assured me that it isn’t a “tunnel” but a ring bigger than CT Scan! And showed me some images on the screen. I have received a text from PineHill Hospital (24miles alway from where I live) if I needed something closer I would have to wait at least 20 weeks extra! I had to take it but the nurse was surprised that my GP lied to me because it is a “coffin” type of tunnel not a “ring” and gave me some random date that happens to be on my birthday. All I know is that I supposed to go there this Sunday on the 18th of August 2024 instead. She told me that I will receive a text with a date and time included ? Instead I have received this “This is a text reminder that your MRI scan taking place this week will be performed at PINEHILL HOSPITAL, HITCHIN, SG4 9QZ. Kind regards” from some normal mobile number +44 7786 209254 that no one is answering your texts etc. No Time, no date!!! “This week” what is that?! I have tried calling 30 times + no answer! Yesterday I have searched for some images of MRI in Hitchin and I can see that it is exactly the same one that I was trying to avoid! I was begging them to give me a better option than a mobile MRI - much smaller one! WASTE OF TIME!!!! I was stressing for days thinking that finally some how I can get it done and find the reason for my horrible neck pain that I’m dealing with for over two years straight! I am on painkiller pills each and every day! Unable to sleep or function as a normal person! And this? This is some next level of stupidity! Why would you do that? I wonder if they ever listen to anything that patients says?! RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!

The hospital facilities were clean, tidy & well maintained. The staff were caring and friendly. I felt looked after. They were always available, and offered a good chose of food on the menu. I was particularly impressed with the physio mobility classes.

Car parking virtually impossible, either arrive very early or get someone to drop you off

We found a parking space, which is always a bonus, and free! Whilst the reception area was busy the staff were courteous and very efficient. Both appointment were on time and yet I had no feeling of pressure when discussing matters with the Doctor, he was generous with his valuable time. Overall a very pleasant experience. Yes I would recommend this hospital.

I had an operation at Pinehill in late November. I found all the staff to be very caring. Everything was explained to me thoroughly. I found the hospital to be clean and nothing was lacking. Food wise there was enough variety to find something you liked. I think my only criticism was no follow up call after I went home to see how I was doing, although I had all the information of who to call if I did any problems, other than that I have no complaint and would certainly recommend the hospital.

Dr Johal and the team was really great specially nurse Bev looked after me well .. food was excellent and well presented. Call back after I came home was superb.. excellent service
