Mr Lambert listened to everything I had to say and when giving his diagnosis supplied full and comprehensive information regarding treatment and possible outcome. Above all he gave me a feeling of total confidence in his ability and care and I would trust implicitly his advice. Not least I felt completely at ease and relaxed helped by his delightful manner. I have already sung his praises to everyone who has asked about my visit and the staff at Spire Bushey were all very helpful and pleasant. All in all a pleasant experience

Very approachable, listened carefully and attentively to my history. Has a very reassuring attitude. Am very impressed with his entire manner and of course professional skill . The latter was amply proven in the excellent result I achieved from his shoulder surgery.

As a difficult case, I have seen three shoulder surgeons to date. Each has failed to diagnose my underlying condition, except Mr Lambert. Having a technical mind, I appreciated Mr Lamberts test-verify approach to his diagnosis. He could see things on my MRI and CT images that suggested a compromised rotator cuff, but rather than concluding that, he did extensive physical examination in order to verify it. His diagnosis was very confident and he asked me a number of questions about my symptoms, the answers to which helped confirm his suspicions. Mr Lambert is yet to operate on me. However, everyone I have spoken to in connection with his work has recommended him without question.

Profile

I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a special interest in the shoulder and elbow. I also hold an honorary academic appointment within University College London. Having worked at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH), a specialist orthopaedic hospital, where I created a research-active, educationally-acclaimed, science-based service, integrated with and recognising the extreme importance of expert rehabilitation, I have now moved to University College London Hospital. We enjoy a national reputation for clinical excellence and clinical research, which I fully expect to contribute to over the next decade. We value our national and international collaborations, and expect to develop these further with the evolution of the service. As a component of this effort my work with the AO has offered opportunities to younger colleagues while bringing the values of the AO to a wide variety of surgeons and therapists. Truly international collaboration and exchange of ideas clearly enhances and promotes the efficacy of patient-directed care and forms the basis for the motivation behind my development of the shoulder and elbow service at UCLH.
