Reviews
Mr Venkatachalam has examined me over a period of 5 years and I have always found him to be very knowledgable and easy to understand. Sadly my body is showing signs of degradation at my age of 58 and he has explained alternatives to surgery which have been welcome considerations.
My name is Paul Field and have suffered from joint pain specifically in my shoulders for a number of years.
After contacting my private insurance provider, BUPA, to arrange a consultation with an Orthopedic Surgeon, Mr. Santosh Venkatachalam came top of the list with an outstanding record of successful patient reviews and technical medical qualifications and professional papers on his field of excellence.
Mr. Santosh Venkatachalam and his team arranged consultation meetings, x-rays, scans and ultra-sound investigations prior to face to face meetings where my options were clearly laid out with the potential benefits and risks allowing me to make a considered decision on the next step in my treatment.
Shoulder surgery was arranged quite quickly at a local private hospital where all of my needs were considered, at a date and time to suit my work requirements.
All pre and post surgery needs were catered for and follow up appointments made with the nursing teams to monitor my post surgery recovery.
I now have no more pain in my shoulder, only recovering with post surgery stiffness being treated by the Physiotherapy team.
I can honestly say that the service provided by Mr. Santosh Venkatachalam was first class, and his "bed side manner" was outstanding using layman's terms to discuss technical medical issues both pre and post surgery where I was kept up to date via face to face meetings and letters for my records.
I would fully recommend Mr. Santosh Venkatachalam as a world class Orthopedics surgeon for his professionalism, skill and kindness if you require treatment for joint related pain.
I met Mr Ventkatachalam at my outpatients appointment where he provided a clear explanation of the procedure that I was to have.
The day of my operation the whole team were informative and I felt very relaxed throughout the whole procedure. The atmosphere within the theatre was relaxed and hospital staff very informative throughout. The operation was completed in about 15 minutes .
Two weeks after the operation I had my stitches removed only to find that my incision had not closed and only four stitches were removed.I cannot use my hand to hold anything and experience a stinging sensation.
I contacted the surgical help line yesterday and the person I spoke to was very helpful and arranged an outpatients appointment for me for today.
I have nothing but praise for Mr Venkatachalam. Pre operation process was smooth and provided me with a clear understanding of what was going to happen. My praise is extended to his very helpful secretary who was able to answer my questions. My appointment was made in super quick time and during the morning of the operation the whole team were very kind, informative and friendly. The operation seemed to go very well and I really appreciated the relaxed atmosphere within the theatre and the happy chat throughout. Since the operation the wound appears to be healing well and, although it is still early days, the tingling and pain in my hand has more or less disappeared!
Thank you so much
I am totally impressed by Mr Venkatachalam and his team of Anthesist,s and Nurses who put me at ease. I was treated very respectfully not treated like some doddery old women so thank you to all who looked after me especially the nurse who took a shine to my shoes.
