Mr Khemani performed an intracapsular tonsillectomy on our son recently. I can't believe we hadn't heard of this type of surgery before we met him! He described the procedure in detail to us and it made perfect sense that this would be the best way of treating him. After the operation he recovered really quickly and was back at nursery just 4 days after the operation. He's like a different boy, his breathing is so much better and his energy levels are so improved. We are really thankful to Mr Khemani. If you are in a similar position to us and are not sure about tonsillectomy, you really need to go and see Mr Khemani. He is knowledgeable, reassuring and extremely kind. We really are so grateful.

I attended Mr Khemani's clinic recently; I could not fault him! I have been an ENT patient since childhood; he had read my notes prior to my appointment and this really impressed me. H took time asking questions and listened attentively to my answers; giving me space to express my symptoms and concerns; this followed an informed, gentle, thorough examination. His opinion was clear, concise and informative; he gave me a treatment option now available following research evidence. I am really feeling the benefit of this. NHS funds spent effectively and time managed very well thank you

Brilliant. I had a deviated nasal septum and was skeptical about how the operation would turn out; I'd heard from others that the results of my particular operation didn't always make much difference. I've waited until now (about 18 months after my op) to leave a review, as I wanted to wait until I was fully-healed. Mr Khemani said that I would probably benefit a great deal from the surgery, and he was right. My nose looked normal again within a couple of weeks of the op, and I noticed an improvement in my breathing ability within the same time period. Since then, things have improved and improved; I basically have super-smell and breathing now (at least, that's how I feel!) and regularly smell things others can't. I had a slight numbness in my top lip for a while (maybe even over a year), but it lessened significantly over time, and I only noticed it if I thought about it. It's completely fine, now. Mr Khemani himself was incredibly pleasant, and very competent and reassuring. I can't fault his manner or approach, and I genuinely trusted my life to him - I hate general anaesthetic... He went through everything very thoroughly, and I never felt patronised, which I have felt in the past by some consultants. I have a medical background, so like to be talked to clearly and honestly; Mr Khemani was very concise in his explanations and answers to my questions. I know this will sound odd, but he also has neat, gentle hands - a very important quality in a surgeon! It wasn't nice being roughly-treated by an ENT specialist with rough little hands as if my nose was a car-exhaust, while being told not to use "scientific language". That was another reason why I entrusted my procedure to Mr Khemani instead of using the NHS (to which I owe a great deal, and am not belittling in the slightest; it just wasn't the right fit this time). I'm glad I did. I'd just like to say thank you very much. You do a wonderful job, and have improved my quality of life. I hope to not see you again soon!

We came to see Mr Khemani as my 7 year old son had been suffering from reoccurring tonsillitis for the past 3 years and our GP and Benenden Healthcare had been unable to help. He was having to have time off school every month, which caused an issue and was very clingy every day I took him to school, and even gave up his hobbies of swimming and street dance as he couldn't breathe properly and had ear problems due to constantly swollen tonsils. Our family life was also affected as he couldn't stand noises in the house, car or when we were out, so we were desperate for help. All the GP's we saw said it was a risky operation and as his mother I got myself quite worried about whether I was making the right decision, but on our first consultation Mr Khemani put us all at ease and reassured us that it was the right thing to do as he had some of the biggest tonsils he had seen. He was the only one who also checked his adenoids and explained how they were stopping him from breathing deeply at night and so probably effected his sleep and his moods and also why he took so long to eat his food. He also gave us a website to read to fully explain the procedure and after care. My son came out of the consultation keen to have to operation as soon as possible and wasn't worried at all, which was such a relief as he is so young. We had great care from Gatwick Spire, including a dedicated paediatric nurse who communicated with us before and after the operation and lovely touches like a child's duvet and a toy in his room to make him feel at ease. The whole nursing team were fantastic and gave great care and Mr Khemani is a very friendly and reassuring surgeon, we couldn't have asked for more and it was well worth £2000. We just wish we had seen him sooner now as since then my son has a new lease of life and is happy, like a 7 year old should be!
