Mr. Chana is courteous, friendly and professional. He has always treated me as an intelligent individual, not 'just another knee replacement'. He has given good achievable advice to help my recovery but not given any false hope about how long this will take. I appreciate his honesty and integrity. When clinic overruns I have heard no complaints because everyone with an appointment is receiving that same level of care, time and consideration.

I tore my mcl and was in severe pain, Dr Chana and his staff and the whole process really looked after me and informed me and explained in basic terms to me what they were doing and more importantly has made such a big difference in my mobility and lack of pain, big thank you to everyone at ashford hospital for their work from the nurses , secretary to consultants, admin people , professional and less daunting and helpful, that's exactly how things should be done .. Doctor Chana was very professional and made a point of talking to me when ever possible. My husband was also very impressed by him. My wound healed very well. The ward was a nice place to be and the nursing staff and every one else were brilliant and nothing was to much trouble.

I transferred to Mr Chana to get my hip replacement done quicker, the first time i met him was just before my operation when he visited me on the ward. 31st December 2013. I was immediately at ease with him and was very impressed with the manner in which he conducted himself. He was very down to earth, friendly and professional. During my follow up appointment he was more than willing to listen to me and very informative of any questions that I had. I am due to have my other hip replaced on the 16th May and would not have anyone else. I would highly recommend Mr Chana to anyone. I was admitted to Ashford hospital for my operation, Dickens ward, I cannot praise the staff enough, they were friendly and very approachable, helpful, caring and professional. A few weeks after my operation I had a follow up call from the ward to make sure that all was ok. Please may I stay there next time. If you require any further information please contact me at bvjill@yahoo.co.uk Many thanks for making this a relaxing and confident experiance. Bev Howard

I had a total hip replacement and as this was my first hospital treatment I was obviously a little apprehensive however from the first consultation until my discharge 5 weeks later it's been an amazingly good experience. Dr Chana explained precisely the surgery I was going to undertake, what it involved, what the after surgery procedures would be and what the recovery process would entail. Any questions I had were answered concisely and honestly. There were a few methods of anaesthetic I could have taken, all of which were explained by Dr Chana and also in a booklet the hospital provide - I selected the epidural, and i'd certainly recommend it! - I was given the anaesthetic (which also included a mild sedative) a few minutes before going into theatre, the next thing I remember was waking up outside the theatre moments after the op had finished and feeling completely relaxed and actually well rested for the first time in months. I attended all pre-op classes, all post-op appointments (such as physio), took all medication at the appropriate times as well as making sure I followed the advice sheets that were given me stating the do's and don'ts. Looking back the whole episode is quite an organisational feat. Once back on the ward after the operation I was visited and checked on regularly, medications given and any assistance I wanted was readily available. I attempted to 'get away' the next day but unfortunately they were short staffed so unable to get all the paper work and formalities done, though I think it was a little unrealistic - however I was released the following day - with instructions and medication. I really can't praise Dr Chana or the rest of the medical, nursing and ancillary staff enough - from being in constant pain and now after just 5 weeks (still having to be careful and following the advice) I am mobile (no crutches) and pain-free. Wonderful!. And Thank You all !
