My name is Betty Welsh and I am a 77yr old woman, who’s quality of life has slowly been getting worse and worse over the past year. I suffered a fall last May, due to my own stupidity of rushing to bring in washing as it was raining. Since then, I have suffered increasing pain in my legs when walking until recently, I have only been able to walk a few metres before having to sit down to relieve the excruciating pain. I have been unable to engage in my usual social activities and have been restricted to relying on family for any kind of outing when I used to have a full and varied social life with friends. I’m pleased to share that Mr Hussain has carried out a miracle. On our first consultation, he advised me of an operation he could perform that would (if successful) alleviate my severe leg pain when walking. He explained all the risks and the procedure but did so in such a calming, considerate way, gave me confidence that it was the right decision for me to have this done (even though I had to think about it on my journey home before committing to the surgery). On our second meeting, the day of the operation, Mr Hussain was wonderful. He was aware of my nervousness and went through the upcoming surgery with incredible thoughtfulness and consideration to these fears and instilled confidence in me for a good outcome. Mr Hussain carried out a L4, L3 +L5 partial laminectomy and decompression for the relief of claudication symptoms, operation on me on the 20th July 2017. I awoke the very next morning able to walk with no pain in my legs! I am now at home recuperating (the pain I have now is at the site of the surgery, which is to be expected), and I am doing my periodic exercises and walking (with no leg pain)! I look forward to when all the pain has gone (I shall dance a jig, on my legs that don’t hurt) but wanted to share my experience and especially comment on the miracle work that Mr Hussain does and what a wonderful gentleman he is. I will forever be grateful for the new lease of life he has given me. Thank you.

What a great doctor Mr Muhammad Masood Hussain is, my father had suffered with unbearable sciatica pain for 6 to 8 months with no real treatment until he met Mr Muhammad Masood Hussain, in his referral appointment Mr Hussain was very informative and efficient, he listened and advised accordingly and gave my father all the options available for his treatment. His reassurance, professional knowledge & expertise made my father make the correct decision for which treatment he would be happy with. Having had the follow-up appointment after the treatment my father is showing great improvements. With all due respect to Mr Muhammad Masood Hussain had this been done sooner by doctors who saw my father prior to seeing Mr Muhammad Masood Hussain he would not have gone through 6 months of pain, clearly there is a flaw in the system from GP to treatment with some doctors in the NHS lacking the ability to establish the correct treatment path or when an MRI is required, as it was the MRI which confirmed my fathers condition. It is true, it's the correct people who make the NHS, thank you Mr Hussain there should be more Doctors like yourself in the NHS and I wish you every success in your career.

After several years of suffering lumber stenosis and getting told many times by my local GP i could not have an operation, I eventually got refereed to this doctor from A&E after visiting the pain clinic. From the outset Mr Muhammad Masood Hussain listened to me which was reassurance as been in so much pain for so many years and nobody helping i finally felt my voice was been heard. Mr Muhammad Masood Hussain told me there would be no problem to operate. Hearing this news i felt i had a new lease of life and this was all down to Mr Muhammad Masood Hussain. After my surgery i would recommend this guy after my quality of life is going to change so much and honestly i can not thank him enough for what he and his team have done for me.

I first met Mr Hussain in March to discuss my herniated L5/S1 disc and from the off felt reassured that I wasn't just another patient and that he treated me as an individual. After a discussion I elected for surgery and was operated on 5 weeks later. The operation had complications but Mr Hussain was on hand to discuss the ongoing issues and his quick thinking and action led to a 2nd operation being performed the same day. Without this I would have endured days/weeks of further pain. The day must have been very long for Mr Hussain and his team but there was never a hint of this being an issue. The whole team were amazing. 6 weeks later I have just seen Mr Hussain for my follow op. I was actually looking forward to meeting him so that I could thank him in person for his efforts which for me have given me my life back, I'm no longer in pain and looking forward to the future. What a thoroughly genuine man he is, a credit to himself and the NHS. I wish him continued success in the future and with all due respect hope I never have to see him again but if I ever did need further surgery I would ask for him personally.
