It was my second appointment as a follow up after an MRI Scan. At my first appointment Mr Wanis kindly fetched me from the waiting room, engaged on small talk then discussed my situation. He was easy to talk to, very kind and apologetic over the internal examination. He explained what he had found inside and freely answered my questions. This is the first time I had fully understood my situation and I thanked Mr Wanis. For my second appointment Mr Wanis quickly put me at my ease with his diagnosis. He told me in plain speak the situation with my Prostrate. I asked a number of questions about it. How I compared, Cancer risk, lifestyle and his advice. I totally understood his answers and again the first Consultant I have genuinely fully understood my situation. I am very lucky to have been put on Mt Wanis patient schedule and am extremely grateful to Mr Wanis for his time and skill. I left his surgery delighted and very happy.

I was fortunate too to meet with Mr Wanis today to discuss my on-going urology problems that I’ve been plagued with for nearly 25 years. He listened patiently with compassion whilst I told him my history and after a brief examination he explained clearly and kindly that technology has moved on and there are procedures not so grim as I’ve had before, that will stop me living with this awful incontinence and discomfort. He has now referred me for tests, prescribed drugs to help meanwhile and tips on self help, most importantly stating that there are options that can help prevent. To say I left his surgery on Cloud 9 was an understatement; I know I have a way to go, procedures to endure but to end my dirty secret at long last would be life changing! I can’t thank him enough and hopefully will see him again for my results and prognosis.

I was fortunate enough to meet Mr Wanis in respect of on-going urology probems I had been experiencing for about 10 years, specifically that is poor flow and my bladder not emptying fully. After a urodynamics test he recommended a TURP as being the answer to my problems since medication was not working and the problem was getting worse. Mr Wanis was careful and patient in explaining both the process and possible side effects. He is polite couteous and I could not have been more confident in his both his advice and his ability to carry on the operation. Mr Wanis even called me on the Sunday before my operation to make sure I was all set. As it turned out I had a urinary infection on the day of the operation so erring on the side of caution it was rescheduled for 2 weeks later while I took a course of antibiotics. It was indeed carried out on the new date and my flow is now ten times better than it was before and my bladder if fully emptying. There are no issues of leekage or anything like that. In short it has been a life changing success and I am eternally grateful to Mr Wanis and indeed the whole of the skilled team I met at Crawley Hospital and the East Surrey urology unit befor that. THANK YOU so much!
