In December 2024 I had severe retention of urine which was a result of a very large prostate (Benign prostatic hyperplasia) this led me to seeing Mr Swinn at Spire Gatwick. Mr Swinn gave me the good and the potentially adverse outcomes of a TURP as well as discussing other options to treat BPH. Having read a lot about the different options to remove part of the prostate it was difficult to decide on the type of operation to go for, however with his many years of experience and the number of operations he has successfully undertaken Mr Swinn gave me additional reassurance of TURP. The operation in January 2025 was a complete success, Mr Swinn also showed me the before and after photos from the surgery removing 26.9 grams of tissue. Additional good news was all the tissue were benign which was also reassuring. I therefore highly recommend Mr Swinn. Additionally Mr Swinn's secretary provided clear communications during the pre and post operation meetings and I also had great care from the team at Spire Gatwick, which helped in the recovery process after the evasive operation.

Mr Swinn is an exceptional surgeon. On our first meeting, he reassured me without making promises and made me feel at ease. He listened to my concerns and symptoms and explained in clear language the possible causes to my issue. Before both the procedure and operation, Mr Swinn explained what was going to happen and what the effects would be post events. My aftercare from Mr Swinn was gold standard and his communication from his secretary was also exceptional. Thank you very much for all your help and I would not hesitate to recommend Mr Swinn to anyone.

In 2001 I was diagnosed with BPH and was put on a course of dutasteride to treat the symptoms. Then in December 2019 I had difficulty with retention of urine which led me to seeing Mr Swinn who had been recommended to me by a close friend. I was really impressed with his professionalism right from the start of our meeting. He explained everything to me in detail and how an operation called a TURP would relieve the symptoms of the BPH. The operation was carried out and was a complete success. At all stages Mr Swinn gave me excellent advice and he was extremely sympathetic in dealing with my prostate problem. I have no hesitation in recommending him. v In late 2024 I discovered that my PSA level had risen slightly so I immediately consulted Mr Swinn and he provided me with sound advice which I am very happy with.
