After a total hip replacement at the spire hospital in Washington performed by Mr.Lee Longstaff I would very much like to say that from my first appointment with him to twenty minutes before I was discharged Mr.Longstaff put me at ease. I put total trust in him and my operation went really well . He is an absolutely fantastic surgeon as well as being a very fine man . Can't thank him and the rest of the team enough for showing complete professionalism in their work ... Keep it up and well done ..once again many thanks ..... Mr.Michael McCann ........ 30th September 2015.
After suffering with osteoarthritis for a number of years, trying numerous remedies and eventually relying on painkillers to get me through the day, I was finally referred to Mr Lee Longstaff for surgery. I was nervous leading up to my first hip replacement in March 2015 but needn't have been. The treatment I received from Mr Longstaff and his team at Bishop Auckland General Hospital was of the highest quality from start to finish.I made an amazing recovery and expect to be undergoing a second hip replacement in October. My life has been transformed already. I can't imagine having two fully functional hip joints. Am I nervous this time?..absolutely not. I trust Mr Longstaff to do the same fantastic job he did before!
My 86 year old Mother had a total knee replacement on 02/07/15, carried out by Mr. Lee Longstaff, he also straightened out the leg in the process.
Seven weeks on, the knee is in excellent shape and my Mother is delighted to be walking well and looking forward to a more active life again.
Mr. Longstaff is a wonderful surgeon and a thoroughly nice person.
Great job and a huge thank you.

I have a Rolls Royce hip now, I am back to work, after ten weeks recovery. Thank you very much Mr Longstaff and your team.
Wood recommend you to any one keep up the good work.
I am a fit, active man of 75 and was reluctant to have an operation which in my mind may have effected my mobility.
After suffering for 3 years, however, through my own hesitation I held back. Eventually the pain became too much to bear so had a right hip replacement on 2nd February 2015.
Mr Longstaff and his Team explained the procedure to me and I was fully aware of what to expect during and after surgery.
I have had excellent service from Mr Lee Longstaff and his Team at The Spire at Washington, brilliant aftercare too. I would highly recommend anyone to go ahead with surgery and have no doubts that they will be in excellent hands with Mr Longstaff and his Team and reap the benefits for years to come.
I cannot thank them enough as I am now painfree and back to being fully fit and active after 6 weeks.
