I went to see mr Kumar Kunasingam for my bunion. I got good sound advice as to my procedure and options available to me, and would have no hesitation on seeing him again. Being a specialist in minimally invasive surgery was the primary reason for me to seek his expertise.

I totally ruptured my Achilles tendon and saw Mr Kunasingam at Croydon University Hospital. He booked me in for the operation to be done within a matter of days. I am delighted to say that after just 6 weeks and 3 days I am walking without a boot or crutches.I am no spring chicken (57) and I am rather overweight so I am amazed at my recovery. The scar is very small (6cm) and very neat. I would wholeheartedly recommend this consultant. He is a specialist in his field and a lovely friendly, trustworthy and kind gentleman.

I have had hammer toes on my right foot for a number of years which have given great pain when walking and the necessity for frequent visits to a Podiatrist to remove corns and cut badly distorted nails. When consulting Mr. Kunasingam he immediately proposed surgery which was a great success. Mr. kunasingam was very reassuring and I found it easy to discuss my problem. During the whole procedure he could not have been more kind and considerate but very professional. After 6 weeks I am pain free and can now walk with ease.

Mr Kunasingam performed MIS on my left bunion in February 2019. I work as a radiographer and have seen the quick painless recovery for this surgery. I was convinced by the stability of the fixation screws used and the post operative management. My day case surgery went smoothly with only short lived pain on waking up in the recovery room. I walked out of the hospital unaided a few hours later armed with analgesics which I used for the first week more as a safety net, and in the second week only at night. I was surprised at how painless walking was from the start but rested elevated and iced several times a day to reduce swelling and bruising . The tight bandage with thick wadding was rather uncomfortable but having the benefit of hindsight , I was aware that it would help reduce swelling, and protect the integrity of the surgery. After about 12 days post operatively I could feel the bandage loosen which I thought was because the swelling had reduced .The bandage began to feel irritating. @ 14 days this came off. At 3-4 weeks I was back at work 5 hours a day maintaining the ice regime in the evenings. Mr Kunasingam and his team were attentive and professional at all times. I am truly grateful to them all.

My Kunasingam, you’ve changed my life! I am so happy with the results of my right foot, can’t wait to have the left one done and feel complete. My bunion was causing me pain and stress and as a young girl made me feel down with the way it looked and I am so pleased I’ve had it done. The bunion removal which Mr Kunasingam preformed is truly amazing, over the moon with the results. I was very nervous and scared at first but there was nothing to worry about as the surgery is painless, I only had one day of slight pain but other than that nothing. The recovery period was rapid, I was back on my feet in no time, back to work and driving within less than 3 weeks. What a great doctor, highly recommend!!! Thank you Mr Kunasingam Chantelle Thorpe
