Mr John Beare

I have been a patient of Mr Beare since 2006. I have always found he has a charming,friendly and reassuring manner. He explains fully exactly what he proposes to do, before operating, and is ready to answer any questions, that I have had. The first operation that he performed in August 2006 was a bilateral upper lid biepharoplasty, and I have been delighted with the result ever since. This year he has removed cataracts from both eyes. Following the first operation on my right eye, in which I had a contact lens for distance, he did observe that with hindsight he would have inserted a stronger lens. To which I commented that hindsight is a wonderful thing and naturally I appreciated his frankness. He obviously is concerned about the well being of his patients, and is very encouraging. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Mr Beare to friends. I have always found him extremely courteous, not only to his patients, but also to everyone in the operating theatre.

I am an 82 year old man.I was operated on by Mr Beare for cataract in both eyes, with an interval of four weeks between the operations. He was very friendly and explained in detail what was involved and answered all my questions very clearly. During the operations (under local anaesthetic) he explained what he was doing, told me what would happen at each stage and warned me of any noises or lights which might surprise me. The operations were totally successful. On each occasion he called me back for an examination three days later to check that all was well. He emphasised that I could contact him at any point if I had any concerns. All in all, I cannot envisage a better or more likeable consultant.

John Beare is a young old school Doctor of the highest calibre . He showed the utmost care and consideration guiding me through and performing my left eye cataract removal . He is the sort of guy that if you lent him your Lawnmower , it would be returned cleaned and oiled and in a better state than before . Patrick Kennaugh

Once the hospital had sorted out the paperwork and appointments for me to see Mr Beare everything fell into place. My initial consultation was thorough and Mr Beare was very informative as to the procedure he would perform on my eyes. The appointment for the eye lid operation was swift. Mr Bear was kind and caring during the operation procedure, explaining as the process progressed and instilling confidence. After care instructions were precise and clear. Mr Bear was caring at the followup appointment when he removed the stitches, once again giving clear instructions. The whole procedure went very smoothly and I would not hesitate in recommending Mr Beare to anyone who had problems with their eyes.
