I am an 82 year old man.I was operated on by Mr Beare for cataract in both eyes, with an interval of four weeks between the operations. He was very friendly and explained in detail what was involved and answered all my questions very clearly. During the operations (under local anaesthetic) he explained what he was doing, told me what would happen at each stage and warned me of any noises or lights which might surprise me. The operations were totally successful. On each occasion he called me back for an examination three days later to check that all was well. He emphasised that I could contact him at any point if I had any concerns.
All in all, I cannot envisage a better or more likeable consultant.
