Doctor James hewes i found was top of his class, i would always recommend people to see him
I found him very approachable and polite. He is a good listener and seems to be very caring about his patients. I have no doubt that he is a good medical doctor.
I choose the southmead hospital by the nhs choose and book system, which worked well for me, including re-booking on a different date.
The outpatients surgery had an advertised 1 hour delay compared to my appointment. I was seen promptly after that at 1650 hrs.
Dr Hewes examined me and asked thorough questions. He clearly outlined my options to choose gall bladder surgery (or not) which allowed me to choose from a fully informed point of view.
I cannot think of any improvement that could be made
It would have been helpful to have a clearer idea of the recovery period such as how much time I can expect to be off work.
I have seen Mr Hewes several times and have found him to be a pleasant and very good Consultant and have seen him in the past few days and he has put my mind at rest.
A very caring person
