I found Mr Bourne very professional and approachable. He made sure I fully understood my condition and what was needed to rectify the problem. I have every confidence in him performing my back operation once the covid crisis is under control.

Thank you for your kind comments. The COVID pandemic has had a massive impact on healthcare provision in the UK, and continues to do so. Thank you for being so understanding. I hope to be able to help at the earliest, safe opportunity.

Following a severe RTA I have been in the care of Mr Bourne from the day of the accident and throughout my recovery. It goes without saying that Mr Bourne is extremely knowledgeable and at the forefront of his speciality which naturally as a patient ensures you will receive the most up to date and appropriate procedure. What is also very apparent is Mr Bournes understanding and caring nature which naturally when as a patient you can sometimes feel overwhelmed with information is so very comforting and reassuring, he always seems to find the time to explain every detail at a level that is clearly understood to the lay person. If it was possible to give ten stars then I would. On a personal note cannot thank you enough for your care and your personal touch

Being 78 years old and always active,it was a shock that I was unable to walk more than 100 yards without sitting down.I had an MRI scan, and was referred to Mr.Bourne and was told I had severe spinal stenosis and that an operation for spinal decompression surgery would help. After consultation with Mr.Bourne, everything being courteously explained the operation was performed.2 months after I am able to walk with ease again.I cannot thank Mr.Bourne enough for the thorough initial consultations and further operation.

I am compelled to say a massive thank you to Mr James Bourne for saving my spine from a potential catastrophic event following a fall which damaged T11 plus a hairline fracture of the spine. Once it was confirmed that my spine had become unstable Mr Bourne moved swiftly to schedule my surgery. When I met him for the first time I immediately felt fully at ease and confident that he would quickly resolve my injuries, he spoke to me in very warm and assuring manner both before and after the operation. He has done a first class job and in my view is an absolute gentleman. I have to mention another absolute gentleman Mr Andrew Berg (Mr Bourne's Registrar) who was present at the operation and reviewed my X rays last month and confirmed Mr Bourne's excellent work still looked exactly as it should. Thanks too to all the staff at Royal Preston and Chorley hospitals.

Thank you for your kind words. It has been a pleasure to help you. Many spinal fractures can be treated without an operation, but sometimes we do recommend surgery. I am really happy that you are pleased with the result so far. As you say, it is a big team effort for such surgery, and lots of people are involved, so thanks on behalf of all the staff. Best wishes J
