Mr Akrawi is an outstanding surgeon and I cannot express my gratitude enough for him carrying out my recent ACL reconstruction and Meniscus repair. From start to finish he has been brilliant, very informative and professional while also incredibly friendly. A great bedside manner to go along with his obvious skills as a surgeon. My knee is progressing great since the surgery and it is such a relief to not be in pain anymore. There is noticeable week on week improvement and Mr Akrawi was great at reassuring me that everything was as it should be in my follow up consultation. 10 out of 10 across the board.

Mr Akrawi performed a hip replacement for my mother who is nearly 84 years old, profoundly deaf and also suffers from dementia. He was kind and caring from the offset when he saw how much pain and suffering she was enduring due to an arthritic hip. He was kind to myself and other members of our family who had to stay with her at all times due to the communication difficulties stemming from her deafness and dementia. Before and after the operation he explained everything in great detail and was polite and respectful at all times. My mother has fully recovered and it is now difficult to see her scar. She has no pain whatsoever and good movement in her legs and hip. Her quality of life has increased dramatically and she is able to do a little more for herself and we can now take her out of the house again. We (my mother included) are exteremelyl thankful to Mr Akrawi and his team (who were wonderful too) for his skill and expertise in what we now know was a tricky operation.

I can not thank Mr Akrawi enough for the care he has provided me. He reviewed my initial scans and was able to diagnose what others couldn’t. He has been great at explaining, communicating and making me feel like he has provided person centred care. My follow up care has been brilliant. I know if I was to ask him for advice or follow up he would be there to support me. I feel grateful he could perform surgery at such a great level of skill that others couldn’t.

Dr Akrawi was the surgeon who did my knee replacement. The service provided by him was excellent and I felt very reassured despite my apprehensiveness about having a knee replacement. Throughout all my appointments with him he was very attentive. Thank you!

I received a total hip replacement at Raigmore Hospital on 6 January 2023. The pre and post consultations and the operation itself were conducted by Mr Akrawi in a clear and concise manner and at all times he took time to explain the operation in non medical terms. After a few weeks I am able to walk without the constant use of walking sticks which is testimony to the surgical abilities of Mr Akrawi. Prior and subsequent to the operation Mr Akrawi's kind and thoughtful approach to me was instrumental in allaying any worries and fears concerning the proceedure. At some time in the future I may require replacement surgery on my other hip and I have already indicated that I would wish him to carry out that operation. Mr Akrawi is an exemplary young man and I have no constructive suggestions to make in respect of patient care as I was completely satisfied with the surgery and ongoing treatment.
