This doctor/consultant is a kind caring non judgemental surgeon! He is very caring and extremely talented! I have had both my knees partially replaced by him with extremely good outcomes. You feel totally safe in his care and he keeps you updated at all stages. This is a Consultant surgeon I would without any hesitation recommend. My results speak for themselves. This guy is a true talent!
Mr Williams treated me with care and a high level of professionalism from the original appointment to the post op review of my knee replacement. He explained everything to me clearly and answered my questions fully. My knee replacement was very successful and a testament to his skills. This has been life changing for me.
My queries to him via his PA during this “journey” were responded to promptly and clearly.
It is now seven years since I had my right hip replaced by Dan Williams at the Duchy Hospital. I was an NHS patient. My wife is a former nurse who made sure that I followed the rules for recovery as far as possible. It all worked extremely well and I have had no problems with my new hip.
It was a great relief to have the surgery and the post operative recovery went well.Mr Williams explained the procedure fully and as the experience was good I had no reluctance to have my other knee repaired in Dec 2021.
Mr Dan Williams was really lovely and he put me totally at ease when I had my hip replacement 6 years ago. I have just had an x-ray to review my hip and thanks to his amazing work it is absolutely fine. I look forward to my next review in 3 years time.
Mr Williams kept a virtual eye on me via My Clinical Outcomes after my op so I felt that
he was always there if I had a problem.
Thankyou to Mr Williams and our wonderful NHS.

Profile
Mr Dan H Williams MBBCh MSc FRCS
Mr Dan H Williams is a Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery at Schoen Clinic, London and Royal Cornwall Hospital and Duchy Hospital, Truro with an interest in Primary and Revision Hip & Knee Replacement.
Dan qualified from University of Wales College of Medicine in 1998 and trained in South Wales, Australia and South Africa before becoming a registrar in the South West of England. He underwent sub-specialty fellowships in trauma, complex knee and hip replacement surgery in Seattle, Oxford and Vancouver.
A Master's degree in Orthopaedic Engineering from Cardiff University provided a basic science foundation upon which he’s built a strong research portfolio. Published work has looked at hip resurfacing (and the recent problems with metal ion levels), clinical outcomes following joint replacement (with an emphasis on returning to sporting activity) and techniques of revision hip and knee surgery.
Dan wanted to bring his research experience into everyday practice; to quantify and capture the impact of surgery on patients and to track these benefits into the long-term. Finding nothing appropriate available, he helped to develop MyClinicalOutcomes, a web-based system that monitors patient symptoms remote from the hospital before and after treatment and into the long term.
Outside of work he enjoys all that the Cornish outdoors has to offer while spending time with friends and family.
