I would recommend Mr Havranek to anyone having urinary problems. His expertise and overall care have given me my normal life back. I had extreme BPH and Mr Havranek carried out a TURP procedure on me. At all times he kept me informed and reassured and the operation went great. I did not have any pain at any time during or after the procedure, and the level of care and attention he gave me seemed to go beyond what I could have reasonably expected . In short I could not have wished for a better consultant than Mr Havrenek at a very bad time in my life. I will always be extremely grateful to him for his care.

From the first consultation through to post operative care, I felt Dr Havranek was very calm, polite and thorough. He took time to explain the procedure and answered all of my questions very patiently. He performed a ureteroscopy using a laser to break down a large kidney stone blocking my left ureter. He listened very patiently to all of my concerns and ensured he took them into account during the surgery.
The post operative support and advice I received from Mr Havranek was excellent.
I am eternally grateful to him for my care and treatment and I would recommend him unreservedly.

From the first time I was seen by Erik I felt I have been in safe hands. He has a calming nature and takes time to explain everything to you in a way that is easy to understand whilst not patronising. I always felt I could ask any question without being make to feel stupid. His advice has been excellent and he passed me on to a superb surgeon who sorted out my prostate once and for all!! I couldn’t recommend Erik highly enough.

As well as being incredibly knowledgeable and thorough in his diagnosis and care, he is also extremely caring which I feel sets him apart from his other colleagues. I would recommend Dr Havranek 100% to anyone in search of urological services. Great doctor!

Profile
Mr Erik Havranek is a consultant urological surgeon with a general urological practise as well as a specialist interest in kidney/renal and ureteric stones. In his general Urological practise he manages blood in urine (haematuria), urinary infections, bladder problems, enlarged prostates (BPH), circumcision, cancer diagnosis, fertility diagnosis, vasectomy and erectile dysfunction. He has particular expertise all aspects of kidney stone treatment including ESWL (shockwave lithotripsy), minimally invasive laser ureteroscopy and PCNL (percutaneous nephrolithotomy).
at Northwick Park and Central Middlesex Hospitals in Harrow and London. He also deals with the medical management of metabolic stone disease.
Having graduated from Imperial College (University of London), he completed basic surgical training at St. Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, and trained in Urology on the North West London Urology rotation.
To further his surgical expertise he completed Fellowships at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane, Australia and at the Stone Unit in Guy’s Hospital. He has an MD in renal cancer from St. George’s Hospital (University of London).
He has published book chapters, peer reviewed articles and presented at international conferences.
He is a editorial board member of an international urology journal, regularly peer reviews journal articles for scientific journals and teaches on revision courses for junior surgeons.
