Mr Erik Havranek is a consultant urological surgeon with a general urological practise as well as a specialist interest in kidney/renal and ureteric stones. In his general Urological practise he manages blood in urine (haematuria), urinary infections, bladder problems, enlarged prostates (BPH), circumcision, cancer diagnosis, fertility diagnosis, vasectomy and erectile dysfunction. He has particular expertise all aspects of kidney stone treatment including ESWL (shockwave lithotripsy), minimally invasive laser ureteroscopy and PCNL (percutaneous nephrolithotomy). at Northwick Park and Central Middlesex Hospitals in Harrow and London. He also deals with the medical management of metabolic stone disease. Having graduated from Imperial College (University of London), he completed basic surgical training at St. Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, and trained in Urology on the North West London Urology rotation. To further his surgical expertise he completed Fellowships at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane, Australia and at the Stone Unit in Guy’s Hospital. He has an MD in renal cancer from St. George’s Hospital (University of London). He has published book chapters, peer reviewed articles and presented at international conferences. He is a editorial board member of an international urology journal, regularly peer reviews journal articles for scientific journals and teaches on revision courses for junior surgeons.
