My whole experience of my hip replacement operation was superb. On first meeting Mr Parkar he was very positive and straightforward explaining the procedure, the timeline and possible problems. Subsequent contact with him and his secretary before the operation were very positive and timely. On the day of the operation Mr Parkar reiterated the procedure, the expected duration, outlined the probable post-op timeline and again went through any possible complications (none of which occurred). At all times Mr Parkar was supportive of my wishes and motivations for wanting the procedure. I now find myself without the pain and lack of mobility I had previously and can now look forward to a better quality of life.

I had a partial left knee replacement, after only nine weeks I have full movement, and nearly pain free, I feel great many thanks.

I have had a historical problem with knees dating back to the late 1990s. I was eventually medically retired from my lovely job as a sea-going engineer officer, throwing my chance for 'top spot' as 'Chief'... Various arthroscopies took place and I enjoyed sublime 'retirement' retraining to work with adults with learning needs, sail, walk and write. In 2022 my right knee bit back! I was directly referred by Southend to Mr Parkar. Bone on Bone, he advised. You need a new knee. The hospital experience and care were superb. I'd maintained a level of walking and after discharge was working up and stretching myself asap. By six weeks I was up to an ability to do 8km. I even enjoyed two sailing trips on my 24' cruiser... Yes, it has been marvelous. Thank you.

Mr Parkar was very informative about what he was going to do to my knee . He explained the procedure and informed me of what I was going to experience over the next few months. Whilst in hospital he visited me twice before the operation to reassure me and visited me after the operation and explained how it had gone and he would arrange a visit for me in 6 weeks time. Throughout my meetings with Mr Parkar he was able to answer my questions and was able to put me at ease. After my visit he told me that if I had any concerns I was to contact his secretary and he was willing to see me. For greater care I feel that the physio team could have spent more time with me and give me a structured exercise program. When I asked how many times do I do the exercise , the response was carry on till you have had enough or when it starts to hurt. One could have stopped after 3 or 4 attempts , which I am sure would delay recovery.
