When I met Mr Desai he listened to my concerns about my shoulder and although I didn’t have a lot of pain my movements were limited. He told me he thought an operation would improve my movement even at my age of 64. It was only 7 weeks till my operation. I was very nervous of how much pain I would be in afterwards I nearly backed out of having it done. On the morning of my operation Mr Desai talked me through what was going to happen also the anesthetist came to talk to me I told him of my worries of pain afterwards. The care of everyone was absolutely brilliant. I came round afterwards and my arm was numb from my shoulder to my fingers. I was told this would last 12 hours so was waiting for the pain to kick in. I can say with all honesty I never had any pain after my operation I was so relieved. I did all the exercises the physio gave me and I now have a lot more movement in my arm and shoulder. I would thoroughly recommend Mr Desai and all the staff at St Hughs.

i have been extremely fortunate in having Mr Desai operate on my shoulder. i was in constant pain and could not use my arm and could not sleep . although i am 75 yrs old and have several other medical conditions Mr deasil and his team took on the challenge. the are a very kind caring team who are top professionals . i now do not need any pain killers and am recovering well. Many thanks to Mr Desai and his team .

My daughter was taken down for emergency surgery for an extremely severe elbow break and dislocation. What an outstanding job he did, 7 weeks later and despite how bad it was how close to the nerves etc the break was it has healed amazingly and she can fully use her arm. Care was brilliant from start to finish. Cannot fault this man.

Following an unexpected break to my left humerus, Mr Desai and his team offered me the best healthcare i could have hoped for. I was given and explained different treatment options, along with a recommended treatment plan. Having opted for surgery, i received impeccable treatment and can now say, having been discharged, my arm is 100% back to normal. Mr Desai is professional, talented and understands your needs. I am contributing this review on behalf of the patient, my wife: My wife was referred to the hospital as she was experiencing a great amount of pain in her shoulder. A previous rotator cuff repair had been carried out in 2009 After consulting with Mr Aravind Desai x-rays and investigations were carried out, further repairs were not considered viable and it was agreed with my wife that a full reverse shoulder replacement would be the best option . From the first appointment with Mr Aravind Desai we felt at ease with both his professional and welcoming manner as he checked my wife’s medical history and fully explained the available treatment, implications and program of treatment involved with this type of operation. He was willing to answer any questions we asked in simple terms which we could fully understand. The operation was a great success, into day surgery in the morning and out again the same day, there was a bed available but my wife preferred to go home. Mr Desai personally rang my wife at home the following morning to check on her condition. The aftercare program, physio and follow ups have all resulted in my wife now back to normal life and mobility without pain.
