I am contributing this review on behalf of the patient, my wife: My wife was referred to the hospital as she was experiencing a great amount of pain in her shoulder. A previous rotator cuff repair had been carried out in 2009 After consulting with Mr Aravind Desai x-rays and investigations were carried out, further repairs were not considered viable and it was agreed with my wife that a full reverse shoulder replacement would be the best option . From the first appointment with Mr Aravind Desai we felt at ease with both his professional and welcoming manner as he checked my wife’s medical history and fully explained the available treatment, implications and program of treatment involved with this type of operation. He was willing to answer any questions we asked in simple terms which we could fully understand. The operation was a great success, into day surgery in the morning and out again the same day, there was a bed available but my wife preferred to go home. Mr Desai personally rang my wife at home the following morning to check on her condition. The aftercare program, physio and follow ups have all resulted in my wife now back to normal life and mobility without pain. If you have an appointment to be seen by Mr Aravind Desai then go with confidence, you are in good hands

I found Mr Desai to be very professional and caring in dealing with me and advised me as to what I could reasonably expect if I went down the surgery route. Following the surgery I found the after care just as good and would wholeheartedly recommend Mr Desai to anyone who needs a shoulder replacement. I am writing this review seven weeks after surgery and I have no complaints about the care and the recovery following the excellent work done by Mr Desai and his team.

Dr Desai operated on my dads shoulder in October 2019 I would recommend him as a consultant and aftercare was really good

Mr Desai listen to all my request and I felt very reassured with my treatment that I received at St Hughes in Grimsby. I am well on the mend and have been discharged from his care.

I have been suffering with pain and lack of movement in my shoulders for 20+ years now. I have had countless injections in both shoulders which only gives temporary relief at best. Mr Desai operated on the first one ten days ago. After fighting for me to get the funding through the nhs. I now have after only this short amount of time got almost the full range of movement back already. I still have some physio to do but I am really happy with the result of his surgery skills. It is a very important thing for me as I am a spinal injury full time wheelchair user. I found Mr Desai was very nice to get along with. Explained everything really well and was very thorough and professional. The whole team at st. Hughes were fantastic and I am looking forward to getting the second shoulder done after Christmas.
