Reviews
My mum was recently diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. The treatment and care she has received has been second to none. Sascha has always been kind to mum as well as looking out for me and my dad through this scary and nerve racking experience. During consultations Sascha was always open honest kind compassionate but most of all she was happy and buoyant. She was happy to answer any questions and we never felt rushed or kept in the dark about any information.
Sascha came round to see mum on the ward the morning of the surgery. She said that the op could take up to 2 hours and she could be gone for 3. Sascha suggested me and dad went in to town to take our minds off it. I obviously looked doubtful as Sascha asked for my mobile number. I was expecting the ward to call when mum was back. I was gobsmacked when Sascha personally called me as soon as the surgery was over. She reassured me that mum was fine and the op had been straight forward and successful.
Thankfully mums cancer hasn't spread and we are now waiting for her to begin radiotherapy but on leaving her last appointment Sascha said anyone of us could contact her if we needed to ask her anything at any time.
I cannot fault Sascha or the rest of her team.
Sasha's strength is her ability to connect with you and make you feel that she is on your level and that nothing is too much trouble. She makes you feel relaxed in her company and this makes it so much easier to ask questions, particularly given that you are extremely stressed having being diagnosed with cancer. Sasha is also very good at explaining the details of what the operation will entail and what you can expect from it. You really do feel that she is doing her absolute best for you and if reconstruction is necessary she really wants you to be happy with the end result. I would not hesitate to recommend Sasha
Ms Dua and her whole team at Broomfield are wonderful. They are all caring and reassuring and I couldn't have asked for better treatment. In what must be a very busy schedule, time was taken at all stages to explain and make sure that I understood.
Many thanks to everyone,
Veronica Eccles
From the moment of diagnosis, I felt that Miss Dua was on my side and trying to ensure the best outcome for me. She reassured me at every stage, talked through what was going to happen, and maintained the personal approach, an approach that many consultants seem to struggle with. The surgery itself was completely successful and with very little discomfort afterwards.
Sascha was very clear about the procedure I would need taking carefully into consideration that I was pregnant as well. She explained everything clearly so I understood and made sure the anaesthetic consultant informed me exactly what would be happening before my operation.
She saw me straight after my operation and let me know how it went, giving me confidence that it was a success. She gave me all options for reconstruction afterwards as well as recuperation times and the positive and negatives for each, helping me make an informed decision.
