Ms Abeysiri has been my consultant for a number of years and although l do not see her on every clinic visit, l am always glad when, after all the tests are done and the long wait to see a doctor starts, it is she who calls me in. She welcomes you cheerily into the room and is ready to answer any queries one might have. She performed my first cataract procedure and is vigilant regarding my glaucoma treatment. I’d like to extend this review to comment on all the staff at Queens opthalmology Team 2 for their caring, polite and warm manner under what mostly seems like enormous pressure of numbers of us patients. The long wait can be exhausting in the hot corridors and must also test the patience of all the staff. I’m not sure how to make a valuable suggestion on how to reduce this unless there could be a way to inform us of how far forward we are in the queue to see the consultant….maybe in a similar way to phone call these days……eg you are number Ten in the queue, etc. we mostly have mobiles these days….then at least we could go out to the toilet, coffee machine, stretch our legs without fear of missing our turn. With thanks

My second cataract operation was a great success in early June. Miss Abeysiri was charming and very competent and the procedure was carried out very smoothly. My follow-up appointment showed that I now have crystal-clear vision and only need mild readers for close work. I am delighted with the results and would thoroughly recommend this consultant and hospital.

Miss Abeysiri is informative, thorough and supportive. I feel lucky to see her as a consultant. (This has been the case in previous consultations too.)

Miss Abeysiri has looked after my glaucoma treatment for nearly twenty years and has always advised me correctly. She said I could have a specific test after telling me it would be definitive but I had the test and all was good

I have been in the care of this Consultant for managing my Glaucoma for about the last 14 or 15 years and have had nothing but excellent care. Her attention to detail and efficiency, combined with real empathy with the patient is faultless. I have undergone three surgical procedures by her and have nothing but admiration for her skills. The fact I still have good vision at my age, is testament enough!
