Having endured a 2-week stay in hospital following my first ERCP procedure which did not go well, I was somewhat apprehensive about repeating it again. However my concerns were unfounded and the treatment I received from Doctor Shearman and his staff was very reassuring and professional. Doctor Shearman could not have been more thoughtful and understanding of my worry of repeating the procedure. I am due to have another ERCP and I am 100% confident about his care.

Dr Shearman took time to explain everything carefully and methodically. He listens and speaks clearly. I came away feeling we could work out my problem together as a team effort and he was in no way condescending. I was grateful he seemed keen not to rush any surgical intervention. I was very ill when first meeting with Mr. Shearman. He listened with compassion and promised to do his best when I said I wanted a miracle to make me well again! He explained things in a way I could understand. He soon had a clear plan for my treatment. He was kind and caring at all times. He efficiently setup my treatment and monitored its progress. I am almost fully recovered, having followed his plan. He was modest about his part in aiding my recovery and was quick to acknowledge it as a team effort.

Mr Shearman is one of the most careing Consultants I have ever come across. He always takes time to listen to what I have to say and explains in plain english any course of action he intends to take. If he promises to do something I always know that it will be done and I also know that if I have any worries I can contact him or his colleague Annie Court at any time.
