I’ve seen numerous consultants at Addenbrookes and Prof Wilkinson is the first one I have trusted 100%. I feel listened to and I am getting the advice and medication that’s right for me.

Professor Wilkinson has assisted me with a long term (>10 year) hypertension issue having had numerous previous tests and being both understanding of and frustrated at, the difficulties I was having. He was extremely knowledgeable but listened to my experience and explained both causes, likely outcomes and options at an appropriate level. I am a degree qualified professional engineer. He was able to recommend a course of treatment at the first consultation, (subsequently initiated and seemingly successful) and organised a final suite of tests expeditiously in order to close off any potential physiological causes not previously checked for. I would recommend his services and thank him for his advice and support

Professor Wilkinson has looked after me for over 10 years following a stroke. He is always considerate and attentive, takes time to listen, and carefully considers any treatment. I trust him completely and recommend him very highly.

Professor Wilkinson is an unusually brilliant specialist. After 14 years of repeated surgeries and radiation treatment, I have become quite a complicated medical case. I came to Prof Wilkinson through the referral of a colleague, who is a patient of his, and who also happens to have an unusual medical situation. This colleague expressed a deep respect for Prof Wilkinson, and now I understand why. I came to Prof Wilkinson with unexplained high blood pressure (sometimes as high as 175/100), which had suddenly appeared 8 months earlier. My usual specialists were not able to sort the problem out, and after some time, it seemed as though they had given up. When I went to Prof Wilkinson’s appointment for the first time, I found him to be perceptive, logical, and direct. He ordered a series of tests, and for the first time I felt like someone was finally taking charge of the situation. I am happy to report that after two appointments, it seems that Prof Wilkinson has understood the problem, and made adjustments to my medication to fix the problem. For the last weeks, my BP has been back down in my normal of 100/60. I cannot emphasize enough how grateful I am to Prof Wilkinson for investing the time in becoming as proficient at his specialty as he is. Without question, he has made a major improvement to my quality of life.
