I have just had a total knee replacement under the care of David Uncles as my Anaesthetist. I am very overweight and was extremely anxious prior to the operation. However, he has such a highly professional, caring and calm manner that at no time did I feel anything but at ease and confident with Mr Uncles looking after me. I felt no anxiety in the pre-op room and although I am assured I was awake throughout the whole procedure, and chatting throughout, I cant remember anything about the procedure except to note that my favourite singer was playing as I left the theatre.
Although I was only in the hospital for two days, David visited me twice following the procedure to make sure I was OK. He did however refuse to tell me what I had chatted about in the theatre!
To summarise, a brilliant Doctor. Nothing could improve the care given.

Dr Uncles carefully explained the process to me and was able to make me feel at ease before going in to theatre. He also checked on me after surgery and therefore I would give a score of 10/10

David has a great bedside manner and it is easy to see why he already has very positive reviews. It is never easy to accept that someone is going to 'Put you under' and you lose total control.. but David made this process a positive one and though I can't say enjoyable, was very professional and ultimately successful. Thanks you David

Dr Uncles put my mind at rest, with his caring, calming and professional manner. He visited me after the operation again making me feel at ease and confident of a good outcome and speedy recovery. I would have no hesitation in recommending him.

Dr David uncles was the first member of the operating team to see me when I had been escorted to my bed in the day ward. He was keen to assess my state of assurance or anxiety and advised me of the role he would play in the procedure to be carried out. I felt that he conducted himself in a sympathetic and professional manner .

I am a specialist Anaesthetist with interests in Obstetric, Ambulatory and Inpatient anaesthesia. I employ a variety of anaesthetic techniques including general or regional anaesthesia, although I often use them in combination to optimise and enhance patients' peri and post-operative experience.
I am dedicated to putting the patient first through the provision of safe and reassuring care delivered in conjunction with my colleagues and associates.
I was present at the inauguration of the Helsinki Declaration in June 2010. This enshrines the values essential to the promotion of the highest professional and safety standards expected of anaesthetists. It is my hope to match or even exceed the expectations of patients who place their trust in me.
