What I can I say about Dr Henderson other than I consider myself incredibly lucky to be one of his patients. I was treated for breast cancer in 2018 and have since had a couple of recurrences so when I found out that my oncologist was going on sabbatical and my care would be transferred to another I was a little apprehensive. I needn’t have been concerned as, from our first meeting, he made me feel like I’d always been one of his patients. People who work in oncology are a special breed and Dr Henderson is a prime example of just how special they are. He understands the fears of a cancer patient and gives the support and reassurance they need. His dignity, patience, understanding and calmness has made both myself, and my husband, feel ‘safe’ which is a rare quality when things seem so bleak. A cancer diagnosis is scary. You have the support from your friends and family but the relationship you have with your medical team is paramount ... these are the people that will give you a fighting chance and I couldn’t wish for anyone better than Dr Henderson to help me ‘fight my corner’.

I was diagnosed with HER2 positive breast cancer November 8th 2019 , I was then appointed Dr Henderson almost immediately to discuss my treatment plan and way forward, I must say Dr Henderson was absolutely fantastic, he has a real calming nature and really put myself and my husband at ease , plotting my treatment course from day 1 gave us a massive line of sight to work to and in with combination of the nurses at little Aston facing the biggest fight of my life became easier & easier as the week progressed, I owe Dr Henderson my life and can’t thank him enough, he’s worth is weight in gold

I was diagnosed in October 2018 with breast and bone cancer. I was referred to Dan as my oncologist.............and whoever made that decision I thank you. When everything is a blur to begin with regular calls were made before a started my chemotherapy and I went in much calmer than if I hadn’t had the support. Being told the scariest news you need reassurance and I have to say that that is how I feel after I see him for my monthly appointment. I’m really lucky to have the most amazing husband but you need the medical support too. We try and travel a lot and I need regular bloods and scans but Dan ensures we can juggle things to make sure this can happen. He makes me determined to live my life as normally as is possible, and feel safe, and for this we both thank him to let us be as normal as we can when living with cancer

I had a complex long diagnosis of breast cancer complicated further by having MS. I questioned Mr Henderson continuously before and throughout treatment concerning my treatment options. He is nothing short of marvellous! He is extremely supportive, understanding and left no stone unturned over a period of 1.5 years to ensure I had the fullest answers and understanding and that I was cared for not just for the breast cancer but also the juggling act of treating me to avoid issues with the MS. Mr Henderson did a lot of research and called me out of hours at times to tell me his thoughts and findings and has readily responded to my letters and double checking results even 2 years on! The long complex nature of my diagnosis has been very traumatic with a host of conflicting letters, information and results - Mr Henderson has truly been my shining light and kept me going through it all. Thank you sincerely

I am currently under the care of Dr Daniel Henderson at Good Hope Hospital, and I couldn't ask for better. He listens, and speaks to you in laymans terms so you understand what is going on now and in the future. He talks to you and not at you, and has a very calm and soothing manner. If you are lucky enough to be referred to him, rest assured that you are in good hands, as he gets things actioned quickly.
