Mr Dan (the Hand Man) was consulted by me over my Carpal Tunnel condition some 18months before I finally succumbed, and asked him to carry out the procedure of cutting the tunnel to relieve my pain, numbness and constant tingling sensation. I chose Endoscopic surgery with him at The Royal Derby Hospital, and received such superb care and attention from him and his team, that after two hours I left the hospital feeling great, almost having had a fun time! He is a superb surgeon for hands, and I was back driving just two days after the operation, and seeing him at his clinic just 10 days after surgery to be cleared to get on and do anything, but with a caution about heavy lifting for a while. All in all, just brilliant!

I would like to say a huge thank you for the amazing treatment and care received from Dan Armstrong and his team who are amazing. He was willing to attempt to repair my scaphoid non-union when there was a very low likelyhood of success. For this I was incredibly grateful. In a world driven by performance figures and outcomes I know that it would have been completely understandable for him to have not taken on my case, but I am so glad that he did. The operation was a great experience and combined with the rehabilitation package was a superb care package. I quickly recovered and regained 100% of the full range of movement in my wrist and was able to engage in all pre-accident activities which was a huge relief. I was able to be discharged recently as the scaphoid is now unified and it has been a complete success which is truly amazing and it is all down to Dan's excellent care and of course the team around him. I feel very fortunate to have had access to the Pulvertaft hand clinic which is an amazing place and such an excellent specialist in Dan. I feel very privileged to have receive this care. The whole experience has been perfect in every way and epitomises how wonderful the NHS is. It is a shame that so much media attention focuses on the negative aspects of the NHS and not so much on the daily successes and achievements that pass without note. Thank you again Dan and to your wonderful team. I hope I do not need this surgery again but I would definitely recommend you and the Pulvertaft hand clinic to anyone requiring this surgery. There is nothing that could have been done better or to have improved my experience during this treatment, it was of the highest standard throughout. I particularly appreciated the time that Dan took to explain everything to me throughout the process and providing options and explanations whenever I didn't fully understand something.

Dr Dan Armstrong has taken time at each appointment to listen to my views. He always gives me an in depth explanation of what the problem is and how it can be resolved. IDr Armstrong has completed an Ulnar Osteotomy and arthroscopy for me. I had a nerve block for the proceedures and he reassured me throughout the op and talked me through his findings and what he planned to do. Great care was given throughout my experience and I would recommend Dr Armstrong to anyone having to have treatment for hand or wrist.. Wish that I could have been referred 2 years ago at the start of my problems as I feel I would have got to this great outcome much sooner if I had been seen by Dr Armstrong initially. I can't thank him enough as I will now be able to continue to work and most importantly care for my husband who has Parkinson's disease wirhout pain and discomfort.

From the first day I met Mr Armstrong I felt so at ease about all the treatment I was about to undertake. I went to see him with a small amount of hope and after three operations have got unbelievable results. He is so kind and caring and he develops a rapport with his patients that is seldom seen. I would have no hesitation to recommend him to anyone because he has achieved things with the movement of my fingers that others said could not be done. I would like to think that I could always approach him if I needed further surgery. A truly inspirational man.

Dan Armstrong is a fantastic surgeon he as time and listens to you and if you ever get the chance to meet him you will not be disappointed he is a credit to his team. I don’t believe that they can improve in anyway or get any better care fantastic surgeon and fantastic hospital
