2023-11-09 - Park Hospital Form - One question, "Do you trust this Doctor ?" Mister Benjamin Bloch is a gifted Surgeon, and do I trust him ? - - without a doubt I feel quite emotional writing this as I was once again, touched by his friendly professionalism, Surgical skills, no-nonsense confidence, knowledge and expertise - His wonderful head of wavy hair also deserves a mention. 6 days ago, on the 9th. November 2023, the good gentleman replaced my second hip. Beginning to end, from entering the Hospital very scared, to the super friendly considerate Porter escorting me to our Vehicle I only have praise to write home about. No matter the patient, no matter their job, profession, enormous wealth or lack of, intelligent or otherwise, once an arm is threaded into that hospital gown we are on the same level, totally reliant on Hospital Staff and there are some seriously good nurses, male and Female at the Park Hospital. Day after the operation, probably due to exhaustion, I suffered from hours of ghastly nausea with pain off the scale when attempting to stand. Once I mentioned the problem, a male and female nurse took firm control, grasped and fettled that nettle with appropriate medication and within no time I was sitting up and confident enough to tackle test a few stairs which in turn would enable me to be allowed home. Apart from Mister Bloch, there are probably more of his Team, those out of view and I offer my humble thanks, and of course, the two gentleman Anaesthetists, one chap gently holding my shoulders giving me great comfort chatting about Muffin, whilst the other soothingly guided me through whilst administering spinal anaesthetic. It would be an honour to shake their hand. To sum it up, this Surgeon is special, if cloning were possible, there should be a Benjamin Bloch, Orthopaedic Surgeon in every Hospital. All in all, another good job well done Lili Lettice Leatherby

I was seen as a patient for a right knee replacement beginning with an initial consultation with Dr Mersich in the summer of 2021. I was offered an operation in March 2022 but was able, to defer until September as In had only started paid work again after the pandemic. All the care was excellent and the results of the knee replacement are well above my expectations. Dr Mersich always explained everything very thoroughly and clearly is a very skilful surgeon. One year on, I have just been discharged and often forget that the knee has been replaced. I only experienced pain in the early weeks after the operation as the healing process took hold. The aftercare was also excellent and the advice of the physiotherapists, taken on board to the letter, led to me being able to recover within two months and walking normally (as well as cycling for fitness). Dr Mersich has given me excellent aftercare, seeing him after three, six and twelve months. I am very satisfied with the result and very grateful to Dr Mersich and the staff of the Park Hospital.

When referred to a consultant, as an NHS patient I was given a choice of hospital. I chose the Park Hospital for a number of reasons. Proximity to my home, ease of access for me and my family, reputation and size. The outpatient care and the inpatient care is exemplary. The premises are spotlessly clean. The Receptionists, Nursing staff, Anesthetist. Porters, Physiotherapists and Mr Mersich, Consultant, all have treated me with the utmost respect, care and support throughout 2 procedures in the last 9 months. The food provided is of the highest quality. The experience when feeling very vulnerable was first class and I would recommend to anyone.

Saw my consultant who discussed my case and told me what i needed, got a quote for the surgery, all good. then got a call from the admissions team to tell me it was going to cost an extra £2750 due to me needing "extra" care post op, this came as a shock and at a cost I couldn't afford, so cancelled. As a matter of courtesy I contacted the Surgeon to tell him why I had cancelled, and he was shocked at what I told him, to his great Credit he sorted it out for me and the extra charge was dropped. operation then went without a hitch.

I had my gallbladder removed at The Park Hospital on Tuesday. The hospital itself is lovely and spotlessly clean but what truly makes this hospital special is the staff. Every single one of them provided exceptional care from the second I checked in until the moment the lovely porter helped me in to the car later that day. Thank you all. Fantastic team and care.
