Apparently the practice has been taken over by the health board. Now seems impossible to even speak to a doctor, let alone see one. After trying on and off for three weeks I have been told they will get a medic will ring me (been told this before and heard nothing) so that I’m not taking up an appointment slot! Clearly you have to be on deaths door to warrant the attention of a gp.
Phone wait is ridiculous. Reception staff variable. One is very pleasant, another is disinterested and rude.
Can’t rate cleanliness because I can’t get through the door.
Following an email sent to practice re requesting an appointment, I was very pleased to be contacted promptly the next morning by one of the Practice Nurse Specialists. Very thorough and supportive phone consultation which resulted in her booking me in for GP, Bloods and Chest X-Ray next working days.
I am beginning to wonder if Rhoslan surgery actual have any GP's working there because when I requested a call back it was a GP from Rysseldene surgery that phoned. Certainly the GP's listed on this web page no longer work at the surgery and haven't done for quite a while now. Anyway... i was prescribed medication that i should not take due to having a heat condition and being on anticoagulant medication plus other health issues that were listed in the medication leaflets 'warnings and precautions' list. I phoned to Query the prescription and it took 3 days for them to get back to me and basically told me that there were risks in me taking this particular medication but it was that or nothing as the GP (who's name i was not given) was not willing to prescribe an alternative. I have, in the past, had a similar medication to the one prescribed and had a very bad allergic reaction to it and i did inform the GP about this. I have also had 'alternative medication' in the past that i was find on ... but they are refusing to re-prescribe this other medication and would prefer me to take a big risk by taking this other one when i know from the enclosed leaflet that i should not take it. I will be taking this matter further because i am disgusted by the way i have been treated. I have even phoned a chemist and they agreed that i should not take the prescribed medication due to the risks. If i had not checked the enclosed patient information leaflet and had just taken the tablets it could have ended very badly indeed.
Told by the receptionist I can’t have a flu jab because I’m 59 they only do them for over 65s I thought this had changed it’s for over 50s now the receptionists in this surgery don’t seem to know what they’re on about or they just don’t want to bother and are wanting you to just go away and leave them alone
I graded them high for cleanliness because hardly anyone from the public is allowed inside. All are outside in all weather and nowhere to sit. This is bad if you have mobility issues.
I dont know if it's just my perception but I dont feel the Drs really listen and you get the impression they dont want to be there. I know lots of changes are happening and you can tell but news on these changes are not communicated with the patients. For example who are the Drs there now?
