I am so pleased that I chose Professor Chapman-Sheath for my knee replacement surgery. He put me at ease from the moment I met him with his gentle manner and expert knowledge. He was very good at explaining what was causing the pain in my knees and also the options for treatment. My initial consultation with the Professor, in which he listened carefully to my concerns, gave me the confidence to move forward with the treatment in the knowledge that I was in good hands. On the day of my surgery at the Nuffield Health Wessex Hospital in Southampton, Professor Chapman Sheath, and everyone on his team, offered excellent care before during and after the operation. I also felt very encouraged by Professor Chapman-Sheath's personal check-in visits on the ward to see how I was getting on following the surgery. It is now 5 weeks since my surgery and I couldn't be happier with the outcome. The comprehensive advice and information that I have been given throughout by Professor Chapman-Sheath, the hospital staff and the physiotherapy department has really supported my recovery very well.

Professor Chapman-Sheath is straightforward, thoroughly pleasant and informative. He explained to me very clearly what he thought might be the problem with my knee, gave me the option of where to have an MRI scan - I chose Bournemouth where the personal attention was second to none. I cannot recommend Bournemouth strongly enough. He fitted me into his appointments days after the MRI and again clearly showed me where the damage was. He recommended a right knee Arthroscopy. I have absolute confidence in his decision and I am very happy to go ahead with a day surgery appointment. I would personally recommend anybody with a knee problem to take it to Professor Chapman-Sheath.

Thank you for taking the time to review my practice and delighted that the MRI scan in the Open Magnet scanner in Bournemouth was so quick - enabling me to speed up the diagnosis and plan surgery with you

My experience at the Spire hospital was very good. Mr Chapman- Sheath performed a complete knee replacement & was very good explaining the operation to me. I am now 7 weeks after & have been walking without crutches for 3 weeks, am able to walk up & down stairs normally, & carrying on with life without discomfort. I would thoroughly recommend Mr. Chapman-Sheath, he was very kind & understanding. Joan Clarke

Professor Chapman-Sheath replaced my left knee joint in January 2016 and I was delighted with the result having really good movement and able to do most normal activities (had some trouble kneeling on firm surfaces). Unfortunately I fell and damaged the ligaments in this knee which resulted in me having to have a revision to the joint in November 2021. I was not looking forward to this as the risks are considerably higher due to the more invasive surgery; I was satisfied though that the professor was the surgeon to carry this procedure out for me. I need not have worried as professor Chapman-Sheath's expertise and years of experience showed with an excellent result; less than 4 weeks since surgery I have a stable knee joint, minimal pain and swelling and good movement. I am delighted with the result. Not only is the professor a brilliant surgeon but he is a genuinely lovely man. I can't recommend him highly enough. I will need my other knee joint replacing in the future and will move heaven and earth to ensure the professor does that one too!

I had an arthroscopic ACL reconstruction, meniscus repair with Professor Chapman-Sheath. From start to finish it was quick and professional. I’m currently 6 weeks after the operation and walking without crutches, swimming, cycling and able to walk up and down stairs. Professor Chapman-Sheath explains the whole process clear and direct. With getting back in to sports, he advised each step of the way. Would definitely recommend.
