I was lucky enough to meet Will Jackson when a dear friend (who had been a nurse at the Nuffield Orthopaedic and had worked with him) advised I see him to try and sort out a problem with my left knee. I chose to see Will privately and after a comprehensive batch of x-rays were analysed and following detailed explanation of my condition (severe osteo-arthritis) I was provided steroid treatment which he hoped would delay surgery. And it did for 6 years! On returning to him in 2022 he felt he could not in all honesty delay surgical intervention anymore and I received a Total Knee Replacement on my left knee in February and on my right in September 2023. Both surgeries have been very successful and I am delighted with my renewed mobility! Throughout my treatment by him, everything was explained to both me and my partner to make sure we absolutely understood what would and could happen so we were informed enough to make the right decisions for us and my health. I cannot express how so very grateful I am to him for his care, expertise and excellence in all he does. And cannot recommend him highly enough.

I have been under Mr Jackson’s care for a number of years now for problems with knees. Firstly, it is incredibly reassuring to be under the care of one of the World’s leading knee surgeons who is a member of the very team who have been at the forefront of pioneering complex knee surgery and perfecting techniques, implants and instrumentation. I have felt totally safe under Mr Jackson’s care and trust him and his skills implicitly. He would not be where he is at this centre of excellence unless he excelled himself. As if that was not impressive enough, he is just downright a lovely man who takes time to explain things carefully and clearly so that I have been able to make informed decisions about my treatment. His bedside manner is wonderful and he has always put me at my ease. Now contemplating a knee replacement next month, I am not daunted at all. We have reached this decision together and I am looking forward to getting back to the activities I enjoy doing once the surgery is completed.

William Jackson is one of the most complete specialists I’ve met. He is knowledgeable and at the cutting edge of his subject; clear and reassuring in his advice; generous with his time; and personable. He doesn’t rush to surgery when the situation does not warrant it, and equally prepares you for what might lie ahead. Thoroughly recommend.

I am very grateful to Mr Jackson 2 weeks ago I had a 2nd stage complex knee replacement. After being sent to Oxford from a hospital in my local area. A bit nerve wracking as I’d never seen Mr Jackson but had to put my trust in him to clean infection in knee replacement, unfortunately had to remove knee etc well that was 2020. 2 weeks ago finally had knee replaced by Mr Jackson and can say I’m very grateful to Mr Jackson and his team for their expertise and skills as my knee was a bit complicated. Mr Jackson is the best knee consultant I have seen in the past 9 years. He listened to me and what I wanted as some options we discussed I wasn’t happy with. It is nice to have a down to earth consultant, that listens and tries to work with me rather than informing me of what he is going to do. He gave me options, i was still worried on the day of operation but I am very grateful that it has been done, and so far out of pain. I know I’ve got quite a way to go. But I am truly thankful that Mr Jackson took on the care of my knee.

I was referred to MrJackson in 2018 by my consultant in Hampshire Mr Mike Risebury. After knee replacements, open knee surgery and several other procedures on the same knee, Mr RIsebury wanted to rule out any underlying infection. When I met Mr Jackson he wasted no time in arranging biopsies from the knee. Those biopsies came back negative but Mr Jackson explained there was a possibility of bacteria lying dormant which could cause infection in the future. After advice from Mr Jackson I was placed on a 12 month pain management program by my doctor to see if the pain I was experiencing could be controlled and thus avoiding further surgery. Towards the end of 2019 I started to experience irritation of the knee which in February 2020 turned into an infection. After 3 cases of the infected area escalating over a two month period Mr Risebury again referred me to Mr Jackson who arranged a consultation visit within a couple of weeks. I was blown away when Mr Jackson met with me and introduced surgeons from plastics and bone infection to inspect the knee. A decision was made immediately to perform surgery and I was admitted on 24th August some 3 weeks after consultation. I have just completed 2 .5 weeks undergoing surgery and hospital recovery. What a wonderful experience from wonderful teams. Mr Jackson has been with me all the way and I feel very humbled for his caring and that of his teams and the other teams who have executed the plan for my surgery and follow up care. This is stage 1 of a 2 stage plan so I will be discharged from hospital today and recuperate at home for 12 weeks before being through stage 2. I feel very safe and secure in Mr Jacksons hands and will be forever grateful to Mr Risebury for his support, all the fantastic skills of the teams at Nuffield and Mr Jackson for his wonderful support and giving me the opportunity to progress my recovery
