I met Dr Bishop for the first time back in Nov 14 and he made me feel so comfortable while he was explaining my condition and i came out if his office understanding exactly what was going on. I have since had my operation and have not looked back since, Dr Bishop takes time out to come and see you personally to find out how you are getting on so you do not feel like you are just left to get on with getting better i felt i still had his full support. Thank you Dr Bishop for helping me to get back to normal and in a short period too.

I attended the Parkside Hospital with back pain I couldn't get rid of (L5,S1 root compression) . After a consultations with Mr Bishop I was quickly led down a path to recovery. He was always very supportive and confident. He initially performed an epidural on me in an attempt to release my problem but this didn't work. Following a few more scans and a couple consultations he recommended a discectomy. A couple months down the line I’m nearly fully recovered! I can't thank him enough for the excellent work he did!

I saw Tim Bishop from initial consultations, through two nerve root injections, and finally to lower back disc surgery over a 12 month period. An excellent, knowledgeable and empathetic consultant doctor. I would thoroughly recommend seeing him for any back or sciatic related injuries or trauma.

29 April 2014 Written by RPH After my Wife was in fact wheel-chaired in for consultation with a previous Consultant after two or three abortive attempts for remedial work to her lower spine by way of injection, she hobbled into Timothy Bishop’s care at Parkside. Mr Bishop oozed compassion and confidence and I believe rated the severity of a proposed fusion op as being on the upper scale of difficulty. He explained the intended process with great clarity. Clearly he is an extremely talented, new generation Orthopaedic Consultant and his considerable preparation enabled the operation to go exactly according to plan. There was equal support from Mr Michael Shaw who dealt with the anaesthesia who, in fact, became fully stretched after the operation due to a dramatic fall in my Wife’s blood pressure, which was all to do with her, rather than the team which had been gathered around her. The High Dependency Unit was overseen by Timothy Bishop and Michael Shaw and hourly contact by telephone updates and regular visits were accepted as being almost part of the norm, which they clearly could not have been, for the two day duration. My Wife was home within five days. The two post-operative consultations have been proficiently executed and Mr Bishop’s bedside manner, and considerable expertise, we are sure will make for equally very satisfactory treatment for many other patients in the future, as must have been the case in the past.
