Mr Mahmud explained in great detail what was wrong with my knee and how ha was going to fix it. He kept me informed on all the procedures and how long it should take to do them. The Experience was very relaxing and un stressful unlike previous operations I have had before.

I knew my knee was worn out and Mr Mahmud confirmed this very quickly, he suggested a minimally invasive partial knee replacement which he carried out at the Alexandra Hospital two and a half weeks after me first seeing him.
His interaction with both patient and family is so good, he explains everything even how long the pain is going to last and the best pain relief to counter this.
3 weeks after my operation I was recuperating in the warmth of spain.
Mr Mahmud is a very clever and forward thinking man, I do not hesitate to recommend him.

Was operated on by Mr Tahir Mamhud at the Regency in Macclesfield, I had a total hip replacement. I strongly recommend Mr Mahmud, a terrific surgeon with excellent bed side manner. I was kept fully informed throughout the entire process. Four months after my hip replacement I am now pain free for the first time in many years..... top job by a top surgeon....

I had been suffering with a painful knee and was referred to Mr Mahmoud. Hearing I had torn my meniscus and needing surgery I was apprehensive. Mr Mahmoud put me at complete ease explaining everything and now I am pleased to say I am fully fit and back to normal. I can’t thank him enough.

From my first consultation with Mr Mahmud at The Alexandra, I had total confidence that my knee replacement operation would be successful. Mr Mahmud's manner and straightforward approach made me feel relaxed and happy about the whole procedure and the outcome has been brilliant. After the 6 sessions of physio included in my package, and 5 months after the operation my knee is virtually back to normal and I can run up the stairs and am back to walking in the hills. Mr Mahmud is an expert Knee and Hip Surgeon who completed his specialist Orthopaedic training in London and Canada. Mr Mahmud has considerable expertise in dealing with complex knee problems including sports injuries, Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) reconstruction, meniscal reparative surgery, cartilage regeneration surgery; and arthritis in the younger patient performing a range of knee preservation procedures including osteotomy around the knee for knee arthritis and patella-femoral conditions.
Mr Mahmud has particular expertise in performing Robotic-assisted total knee replacements, Conformis (bespoke) patient specific total knee replacements, Uni-compartmental knee replacements and revision total knee replacement surgery. Mr Mahmud has an interest in performing minimally invasive total hip replacements and offers this procedure at the BMI Alexandra Hospital in Cheadle.
Mr Mahmud performs a large volume of knee and hip replacement surgery using the latest techniques which minimise soft tissue injury and promote a rapid recovery. He is a safe surgeon and has outstanding patient reported outcome measures (PROMS).
