Sanjay was very friendly and concerned. He listened to all I told him and spent a great deal of time explaining my situation. He was very responsive to my needs even when they went beyond the usual. He was very concerned for my comfort during the time I was with him and I benefited greatly from his attentions. I would recommend him highly.

Dr Purkayastha looked after my uncle when he had difficulties with his stomach. He was very kind, compassionate and pulled out all the stops to make the whole journey as smooth as possible. The surgery was brilliant and my uncle is doing so well. Not only does he care about what he does but he is a fantastic communicator and a great surgeon. We are truly blessed to have had him care for my uncle and will be eternally grateful.

My wife has been under the care of Mr Purkayastha several times as an inpatient at St Marys Hospital. Each time she is unwell and the situation is very stressful for both of us. Mr Purkayastha devotes a huge amount of time and thought to us and operates to the highest of standards. He is always available and is incredibly generous of his time. He is the finest clinican and surgeon that we have ever met and his intelligent and personalised approach to us made a massive difference to us in these difficult times. I could not recommend Mr Purkayastha highly enough. We are both deeply grateful to him and his expertise.

I was under Mr. Purkayastha's care for emergency surgery at St. Mary's Hospital. He was extremely approachable from the start and explained everything in as much detail as me and my family wanted. He even drew diagrams and showed us animations on his iphone to help us understand the procedure and the risks. He rang my partner as soon as the surgery was over to explain what was found and what what done. Everything was even done with key hole surgery which meant my recovery was even quicker. The surgery went very well and I had no complications. Mr. Purkayastha saw me personally every day even though I was an NHS patient. His manner, communication and organisation of his team were brilliant. On the day I was due to go home I was the only patient that didn't have to wait for my discharge papers and medication to go home with because they were already done. I hope that me or my family never needs emergency care again but if we do I would always go back to Mr. Purkayastha.
