I was referred to Mr Pathiraja from Mr Arambage to perform surgery on my fibroids. I have massive multiple fibroids (one even in the size of a volleyball - 20cm diameter) and it is above my belly button, so I need to have an open myomectomy. I was very nervous from the get go as I have never done any surgery before. On top of that the size of the fibroids and the delay of the surgery (not because of Mr Pathiraja/ Mr Arambage) but because of the hospital waiting list, it is making me more anxious by days. I admit there are several days I want to hit my belly so hard because I hate the condition. But from the first time, I met Mr Pathiraja, he has been very attentive and giving me assurance. He gave me and my husband more understanding about the procedure, about things that could happen. On the day of surgery, he was very calm, making me feel very calm as well. I know it was a very long surgery for him but he came to see us and assure us that things are going well. My road of recovery has not been easy too, I had tummy bug, then alergic reaction to the glue, drama after drama but Mr Pathiraja and Jess, his secretary were so patient. They gave me clear direction on contacting GP/ ward to help. If anyone feel in doubt, feeling nervous or anxiety about their female problems, please do seek Mr Pathiraja, he will explain to you thoroughly, he will listen to you attentively and answer calmly. Also Jess, his secretary, is a superstar. I know how painful I can be, calling, messaging, emailing but she has been very patience with me. Thank you so much Mr Pathiraja and Jess. You are both saviors and really appreciate your help!

I had confidence in Mr Pathiraja from my first consultation with him. He performed a laparoscopic hysterectomy and repair on me, and in my dealings with him he was straightforward and kind and gentle. He listened very well and took time to explain and exuded a confidence which was reassuring . I would recommend him without hesitation and would like to thank him for his true and excellent care. I had the best care that I could imagine. He was was able give full attention during the consultation both before and after treatment and reassure me when I was struggling with lots of medical terms from the hospital.

Mr Pathiraja performed a total hysterectomy on me at the Manor Hospital in Oxford in June 2022. As soon as I spoke with him on a preliminary video call I felt very strongly that I just had to have him as my surgeon. No one else would do. I could have had the surgery done elsewhere for free but I wanted him. He is amazingly empathetic, a great listener, highly respectful and caring, wonderfully patient and very prestige free. I paid for a 20-minute consultation and he gave me all the time I wanted (which turned out to be twice that). He let me lead the entire conversation with my list of questions. He is extremely particular about details -- when he asked if I had any allergies I (mostly jokingly) replied "sticking plaster glue" and he said with great seriousness "I'll make a note of that". Later, also before the operation, I had emailed him some more questions, and he left a message to phone him on his private number early in the morning before he went to work. His phone message was mistakenly relayed to me twice, so I phoned him twice -- the second time was 7.30 in the morning on what turned out to be a major public holiday in the UK (the Thursday of the Platinum Jubilee -- I didn't know as I was calling from abroad). I clearly woke him up, but he still answered all my questions patiently in detail. I then cancelled the operation at very short notice, for a variety of not very good reasons. He patiently agreed to reschedule and come in five days later specially to do it on a Saturday (!) There was zero recrimination or annoyance on his part. It was amazing and extremely kind. On the day of the operation he came to my room ahead of time and he was very reassuring. The day after the operation he again came to my room and discussed the results at length. I subsequently had several more emails with him and then a follow-up appointment in person to discuss the results of the lab analysis. Never did I feel rushed or a nuisance. The operation went well and the laparoscopic scars are minimal and fading fast. Apart from a bit of bloating from the gas and some uncomfortable bowels as they rearranged themselves, there were no negative results. I would recommend Mr Pathiraja to anyone and I feel immensely fortunate to have had him as my surgeon.
