All the way through I felt that I was in very safe hands. Treatment was explained and questions were answered as when asked. Recovery post-surgery was exactly the way it was explained

I found the whole experience of dealing with Dr Nim and his colleagues and supporting Team exceptionally professional. This is from booking appointments through to the consultations I had with the doctor himself. Due to Covid I only met the doctor once and that was just prior to my procedure but his approach, openness and professionalism had addressed all my issues prior to that moment and put me at my ease. I knew in detail exactly what the procedure entailed and what any after-effects might be. The fact that I recovered more or less immediately enabling me to go home after about two hours following the procedure (which involved general) is testament to the professionalism of care I had whilst at the Runnymede.

Mr Nim was both very professional but also human and listened to what I had to say.

Profile

I am a Consultant Urological Surgeon and the Clinical Lead (Clinical Director) for the department of Urology at Ashford and St Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust). I am also the Lead Cancer Clinician for the trust.
I have sub-specialist interests in stone disease of the urinary tract (expert in rigid and flexible ureteroscopy and laser fragmentation, percutaneous nephrolithotomy and ESWL), and prostate cancer diagnostics having set up the transperineal template mapping biopsy service at my trust.
I have also recently implemented the new fast track prostate cancer diagnostic pathway for patients referred to Ashford and St Peter's Hospital, to ensure a quick and timely service to our patients referred with a clinical suspicion of prostate cancer by virtue of a raised PSA or abnormal examination findings. I also cover a wide scope of urological practice and can undertake newer treatments for benign prostate enlargement (Urolift, Rezum, Greenlight PVP, TURP surgery and evaluation for prostate artery embolization). I also treat bladder cancer, testicular cancer and a wide range of benign urological conditions.
I am passionate in aiming to deliver high quality patient centred care, with an emphasis on a holistic approach and collaborative decision making with my patients.
