Mr Arum is a very friendly down to earth person.
He was very understanding of my problem and explained everything thoroughly.
He gave me enough time to ask questions. I would definately recommend him as a consultant.

Mr Arumainayam is such a lovely, caring, knowledgeable and highly respected Consultant. He has an excellent bedside manner and really put my father at ease throughout his care for us.
He gives so much time to explain every detail from investigations, diagnosis to treatment options. He made us feel at ease at all times by allowing family to be well informed during consultations.
He also follows up very promptly in writing after consultation giving a very detailed summary of discussions, which are very helpful to serve as a reminder of all that was discussed.
We would highly recommend Mr Arum to anyone who requires help from a urological perspective.

A comprehensive description of the procedure, and risks, was given in the preliminary consultation. All my questions were answered. The procedure itself was as expected but the big surprise was that I had no discomfort whatsoever in the area of the procedure. The debrief after results were available was thorough and explained the options available to me, with referrals to be arranged.

Mr. Nimalan Arumainayagam takes his time to explain in detail what treatment options are available, what the surgical options entail and what the post operative expectations are. I am a Consultant Urological Surgeon and the Clinical Lead (Clinical Director) for the department of Urology at Ashford and St Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust). I am also the Lead Cancer Clinician for the trust.
I have sub-specialist interests in stone disease of the urinary tract (expert in rigid and flexible ureteroscopy and laser fragmentation, percutaneous nephrolithotomy and ESWL), and prostate cancer diagnostics having set up the transperineal template mapping biopsy service at my trust.
I have also recently implemented the new fast track prostate cancer diagnostic pathway for patients referred to Ashford and St Peter's Hospital, to ensure a quick and timely service to our patients referred with a clinical suspicion of prostate cancer by virtue of a raised PSA or abnormal examination findings. I also cover a wide scope of urological practice and can undertake newer treatments for benign prostate enlargement (Urolift, Rezum, Greenlight PVP, TURP surgery and evaluation for prostate artery embolization). I also treat bladder cancer, testicular cancer and a wide range of benign urological conditions.
I am passionate in aiming to deliver high quality patient centred care, with an emphasis on a holistic approach and collaborative decision making with my patients.
