Before I was referred to Dr Rath I had been suffering from leg pain for 12 months that gradually got worse over time. I was diagnosed with a heriated disc around L4 L5 of my spine which was pressing on my spinal cord. I tried gentle exercises, physiotherapy and nothing helped. Towards the end before surgery the pain was that servere that I couldn't walk more than 20 metres without stopping due to the pain, I was waking up around 2am to 3am in the morning in pain, I had to take more painkillers to get back to sleep. The pain affected everyday life from struggling to get dress, struggling to get the children to school and to their everyday activities and day to day work. When I met Dr Rath he was very sympathetic and listened very carefully to what I needed. I was referred to surgery and had a discectomy a couple of months later. Immediately after surgery my leg pain had gone, the day after surgery I no longer needed the painkillers and although the wound from surgery required time to heal I could sleep as the pain had gone down my leg. Dr Rath has made a huge difference to mine and my familes lives and I could not thank him enough for what he has done. Thank you so much Dr Rath.

I was referred to Mr Narenda following a diagnosis of spinal stenosis which had come as a shock, I had no idea what it was but had been causing quite severe leg pain when overly active. Mr Narenda was very clear in explaining the condition and the options in layman’s terms which I understood. I was still mobile walking my dogs etc and after discussion I agreed with Mr Narenda that my symptoms were not severe enough to risk surgery and we agreed to leave it 6 months and review things. I felt under no pressure at all from Mr Narenda to make any hasty decisions. During the following winter months I took care in my activities in an attempt to not aggravate my condition and the constant numbness and pins and needles in one leg ceased almost completely and my overall pain was very manageable. I was discharged after 6 months and we agreed the conservative approach had worked for me. Mar Narenda assured me he would be more than happy to see me in the future if my condition worsened. I would defintely recommend Mr Narendra as a surgeon.

I have been suffering with bilateral leg pain sciatica for the past 10 months nothing helped the pain including physio or medication I was at my wits end it was in my L4/L5 region. I met Mr Rath in clinic at Walton Hospital with my husband he explained everything to us both in easy to understand jargon and was very honest about the risks associated with spinal surgery. I had my surgery on the 01/05/2019 and as soon as I woke up I knew the pain in my legs had gone I highly recommend Mr Rath and also thanks to all the team on Caton ward for the marvellous post operative care I recieved. Thank you so much for giving me my life back

I have been suffering a lot of pain with a herniated disc on L4/5 with sciatica in my right leg for 8 months. At our first meeting in the outpatient clinic Mr Rath welcomed us to his clinic and listened as I explained what I had been going through over the past 8 months. He explained everything to my husband and myself in layman's terms so that we understood everything. He was open and honest, giving me all the details of my surgery and what to expect. I had my surgery on 9/4/19 at Walton Hospital. Mr Rath came to see me before my surgery and again when I entered the anaesthetic room to go over my consent form. After surgery all the sciatic nerve pain In my leg had disappeared, which I was really happy about as that was my main problem and no medication had worked to rid me or help me with that pain. Mr Rath came to see me again twice the next day before my discharge. I would recommend Mr Rath whole heartedly to anyone needing a neurosurgeon.l
