Having developed a crushed spinal cord, characterised by severe pain in both legs when standing or sitting and walking was limited to approximately 30 metres. The NHS waiting time for a first appointment was 18 to 26 weeks. Knowing that being bedridden for this duration was harmful to being healthy enough to cope with an operation, it risked increasing the damage to my spinal cord, and reducing the chances of making a full recovery. I set out to find a surgeon who may be able to help privately. After several days of research on the internet, one man’s name kept cropping up Mr Narendra Kumar Rath. I made contact with Mr Rath through Cheshire Spine. Mr Rath is attentive, thoughtful, professional, experienced and arranged for my operation within a few weeks. He performed keyhole surgery, to limit trauma and hasten my recovery. I was pain free within two weeks and able to start my recovery.

I recently had key hole surgery on my spine and was under the care of Mr Narendra Kumar Rath. After several appointments with Mr Rath to discuss my issues with my spine and the pain in my leg and my foot he advised me to seek advise about my foot which he said was not connected to my spinal issues and was seen by a specialist and Mr Rath was correct which has now been operated on. Mr Rath was very professional with his competent and friendly approach. On the day of the operation he and his team made me feel very relaxed and I am absolutely amazed by the fact that although a major surgery I have felt no pain or discomfort in the slightest. I would like to thank Mr Rath and his team from the bottom of my heart for the brilliant job they have done and say what a fantastic surgeon he is and if anyone is under his care they are very lucky

I have been suffering from a spinal condition for many years and have had 4 decompressions in the past. I am now 83yrs and have been refused further surgery so have been relying on potent analgesics for pain control. I have paid privately to see a pain consultant with little effect. As a last resort I contacted Mr Rath - and how glad I did! I fully expected to have the same response as I the past but to my great joy after looking at the scan, Mr Rath gave me hope, he said he was willing to operate and thought it would improve the situation. As a result I am now pain free, I can sit in the chair and sleep at night comfortably. I will be forever in his debt and need him to know how grateful I am. Thank you Mr Rath - you’re a ‘super star!
