I suffered knee pain and discomfort when going up or down and this restricted my active lifestyle. Mr Faisal assessed the situation perfectly and thought it unlikely that I needed a full knee replacement as it was the back of the kneecap that was worn away. He thought the best solution would be to put an implant on the back of the kneecap. Although I gave authorisation for a full knee replacement when being operated on Mr Faisal found this was unnecessary. It is now seven weeks since the operation and I am making excellent progress. Assuming this continues I expect Mr Faisal to perform the same operation on my other knee later in the year. Throughout Mr Faisal has been a pleasure to have as my consultant and I have no hesitation in recommending him.

I would not hesitate to recommend Mr Faisal. From the first consultation to the last I felt completely at ease. I never felt rushed and he answered any question put to him. He fully explained the nature of the operation, the risks involved and the recuperation requirements. The operation was a success, and I do hope he is still working in this area when my other knee needs replacing.

Mr Faisal is a very caring and thoughtful consultant. From our first meeting for my knee replacement I felt at ease about the procedure, as he explained thoroughly the procedure and the after care. He was always very encouraging and answered any questions that I had and because of this I will hopefully be having my second knee replacement later this year.

Mr Faisal has now carried out two separate procedures on my left leg/foot. A joint fusion in the foot, and a total knee replacement, but over a period of about nine months. I both cases his approach to the treatment was thoughtful and utterly professional but perhaps above all, he instilled in me a feeling of complete confidence in the advice and the procedures he recommended. He explained the treatment in great detail and patiently answered all my questions (however 'dumb' they were). I also found him honest about recovery times, pain and pain management and expected outcomes - and he has a great sense of humour!

Mr Faisal qualified in 1992 from the prestigious Aligarh University in India. He then went on to complete his masters (MS) in Orthopaedics. He completed his UK training in the West Midlands, Sheffield and Warwick. A SUPERPATH Hip replacement technique is designed to precisely reconstruct the hip without cutting muscles and tendons or stretching muscles that are important for hip function.

Mr Faisal also offers customised total knee replacement surgery using patient specific instruments to streamline total knee replacement surgery according to patients anatomy. The Zimmer Patient Specific Instruments Planner is the next generation in surgical planning. The surgeon can preoperatively view the patient’s anatomy in its purest geometrical form to develop a customised surgical plan for each patient.
