I received two pre procedure assessments prior to my Revision bilateral breast surgery including implant exchanges carried out at Weymouth Street Hospital on the 19th February 2024. The second assessment was due to a delay on my part to the planned admission date. Miles was welcoming, very easy to talk to and listened to my concerns and answered all my questions clearly and concisely. I felt very relaxed throughout the assessment and was treated with respect and empathy. He explained the procedure clearly, offered choices available to me and really put me at ease about my planned admission and procedure. Due to my advancing years this was to be my third mastopexy. I had seen another Surgeon nearer to where I live but was very upset firstly by the secretary, who’s initial response to my enquiry was “Oh you want them removed do you” When I met with the Consultant I was confronted with “are you expecting to have this done on the N.H.S.” I was offended by this and confirmed that had not entered my head. After scans and other tests I was told no surgery was necessary, basically to leave well alone. I am an older lady who takes pride in her appearance and looks after herself with regard to diet and exercise. The attitude that came across from the previous Consultant was that I was being written off. I cannot recommend Miles highly enough, he fully understood my concerns, the discomfort I had been experiencing for some time. I am so very pleased with the result, I am comfortable, which I hadn’t been for some time, the scars are minimal considering this was my third procedure. The procedure was necessary and I am so pleased that I chose Miles to carry it out. It’s a shame I hadn’t known about him for the first and second procedures.

Mr Banwell was a knowledgeable surgeon who clearly communicated the procedure that I was having, and both the pros and cons I should consider. Ahead of the surgery there was no pressure to make a decision quickly, which allowed me to consider other options and whether the decision was one I was comfortable with. On the day of the surgery, communication was clear and I felt supported throughout the process. I felt supported in the aftercare period and felt like I could reach out if I had any questions or concerns.

I contacted Mr.Banwell in April 2024 in regards to a double breast augmentation surgery. I was able to enquire via his website, receiving a callback from his PA who arranged an initial consultation and sent an invoice to be paid prior to it. During our first consultation he immediately put me at ease by talking me through the process, showed me different implants and letting me try them on with a sports bra to give myself an idea of the size and shape I was looking for, ensured I was aware of all the potential health implications as a result of this surgery, and happily answered any questions I had about the process going forward. In the second consultation, he once again allowed me to try on more implants to narrow down the exact size that I was looking for, and to once again go over any further queries and run through what would happen on the day of surgery. I was also measured for the post-op compression bra. Booking the surgery was done via his PA. It was at this point I was given a final exact overall cost, which would be paid separately to Mr.Banwell, Weymouth Street hospital and the anaesthetist. Weymouth Street Hospital was bright and clean, with a large private room to relax and (post-surgery) recover in. The nurses were quick to respond and very friendly. Mr.Banwell visited my room prior to surgery with the other surgeon to draw preoperative markings and answer any last questions. He also provided the 2 compression bras to wear post-op. He visited again post-surgery after I had woken up to check how I was feeling and that I had someone with me to help me get home. He also let me know to contact either himself or Weymouth Hospital anytime within the next week if any issues arose, which was very reassuring. In the days following surgery, I felt little to no pain or nausea, I was mostly just stiff. I was prescribed 4 different kinds of pain meds to take up to 3 times a day, 2 being compulsory and the other 2 being as needed. Mr.Banwell had warned that one of the medications would cause constipation and to take laxative alongside it, which was one of the only real problems I had post-surgery. 2 days following surgery, his PA gave me a call to check how I was feeling and to let me know to call if there were any issues or questions I had. 1 week following surgery, we had a follow up checkup to see how I was healing. He replaced the bandages and let me know that I would need one more follow up in 1.5 weeks time. At the 2nd follow up, the bandages were removed and I was told I could now shower. Mr.Banwell advised me on applying Vaseline to the scar for the next week to soften the scabs. He showed what type of silicone surgical tape I would need to buy for the week following as he advised it would greatly help to heal the scars. I was shown the before and after photos of my breasts following the op and the difference is incredible. I feel like I have a figure to my body now and they look completely natural, despite going from being completely flat chested to a now DD/E cup. I am now nearing my 6th week since the surgery. There’s no pain other than slight discomfort if I accidentally lay on my front. The scar is just a thin red line and hopefully with the silicone tape it will stay that way and fade over time. The only downside (which was something I was warned about by Mr.Banwell!) is I have lost feeling in several areas of my breast, notably the left nipple/areola and surrounding area. But something that was expected, especially due to the significant increase in size. Overall, I am thrilled with the work Mr.Banwell has done. He listened to what I was looking for, was great at explaining every step of the way, and the results speak for themselves. I’m looking forward to being able to wear so many clothes that before I’d been unable to, such as strapless dresses and bikinis with cups built into them. I feel so much more confident in my appearance and would highly recommend him to anyone that was in my boat.

I had a chin augmentation with Mr Banwell in May 2024 and couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome. It has totally transformed my profile and has given me a great amount of confidence. From my very first consultation with Mr Banwell I knew that I was in great hands and felt totally at ease with the prospect of my upcoming procedure. Throughout my entire timeline both Mr Banwell and his fantastic PA Mo were on hand to answer any queries and offer advice/reassurance. My operation was held at The London Clinic and the day itself went very smoothly and I felt very at ease about the entire process. The same can be said for the recovery process, with regular check-in phone calls and subsequent follow up appointments to give my recovery every chance of success. If you are looking to have a chin augmentation I couldn’t recommend Mr Banwell highly enough!
