I decided to have lens replacement surgery earlier this year, and visited Optegra In Birmingham and met Mark to discuss my options. I decided to go ahead after a very thorough 2 hour consultation, initially I was going to have both lenses replaced 2 weeks apart, and went on the 20th March this year for the first procedure, I was nervous at first but was completely at ease by Mark Wevill and his team, the procedure itself took about 10 min max and was totally pain free, I had a patch on my eye for a couple of hours but when I took it off was amazed that I could read the small print on the drops bottle. The reading improvement was so great over the next few weeks I decided to postpone the second eye as I could see both distance and close up really well, but I definately won't hesitate to have my second eye done in the future, it's great not having to take glasses out with me when shopping or readin in general. Thank you all so much!

I had great care from Mr Wevill and his team. I was a very nervous patient but Mr Wevill explained the procedure and potential risks extremely well. He gave me the confidence to go ahead and I'm delighted with results. I have 20/20 vision and shouldn't need reading glasses as I get older. I highly recommend this surgeon.

Upon meeting Mark at my initial consultation he explained the procedure he recommended to me very well, it wasn't everything that I wanted but with my situation of having a lazy eye it wasn't possible for me to have everything I wanted. Mark listened to me and although I initially wanted to cure my close up vision as a priority upon his explanation and putting it into perspective I got it and he was absolutely correct and I could see that the distance vision would be the best course of action. As I only have the one eye that nearly worked I wasn't going to jump into surgery that easy I was pretty scared of being left with no sight at all. So then came all the research I scoured the internet read loads of information, then it was time to double check Mark once again reading everything I could find on the internet about him. Finally I was satisfied that he was the best man for the job. I was still scared, but confident to put my sight in the hands of this surgeon. I am so glad I did and he was completely right about which vision to go for. My distance vision is a blessing I can watch tv, use the computer, see things on shelves when shopping and the other benefit is I can read most close up stuff without glasses, I have gone from a 4 to a 1 in the reading glasses department. It has only been just over a week but already I am amazed at the difference in my vision, it is like a vale has been lifted and I can see again. Thank you Mark.

Had Clarivu Lenses fitted approx. 6months ago. I now have a new life without having to cart glasses around with me. Mark Wevill and his team are very friendly, caring and make you feel completely at ease, throughout the surgery and the following aftercare. Mark is highly skilled and knowledgeable and gave me the confidence to go ahead with the surgery although I was very nervous. I would highly recommend, if you are considering Lens Replacement, go and talk to Mark and his team, they will explain everything to you and there is no pressure put on you to go ahead after your consultation. My experience was amazing just the consultation was so interesting. I can't speak more highly of Mark my surgeon, the actual surgery was fine nothing what I thought it would be, the nurses and everybody were lovely I had lots of follow up appointments so I knew I was being looked after. I can see the world again it was an amazing experience and I would recommend it to anyone. Mark even rang me up as I was a little worried about one eye and explained everything to me and it all made sense. If your thinking do it just go along and talk to them they are all very very nice and so helpful. I can't say any more everything was fab x. Cathy Davies
