After having an epidural injection to relieve my sciatica, I feel like a completely different person. When I contacted ManchesterNeuro, I could not stand up for more than half an hour and was really struggling to exercise. As someone who enjoyed playing sports, going to the gym and long-distance running before my diagnosis, this was extremely frustrating. I was convinced that spinal fusion was the only viable option to relieve my pain. Now, I can spend all day on my feet at work. I have been able to go back to gym, lose weight and build my core strength to support my spine. Mr Gnanalingham has given me hope that I could have a future without surgery on my spine. Thank you!

I was recommended to see Mr Gnanalingham by my GP following an MRI scan and approximately three years of back and leg pain. From my first contact to arrange a consultation I have received exceptional and professional care from both Mr Gnanalingham and his secretary. They have been so helpful and reassuring, explaining my problem and all my treatment options in detail. I opted for a discectomy. I cannot thank Mr Gnanalingham enough, he has quite literally changed my life! I felt instant improvement in my symptoms and am now pain free and able to walk properly for the first time in three years!

He is my current Neuro Surgeon & has operated on me twice & I cannot thank him enough for what he's done for me. He is an amazing surgeon & truly talented. I don't know what Salford Royal Hospital would do with out him as they are truly blessed to have him. He is a genius & such a lovely gentleman too.

I was referred to Mr Gnanalingham following an ENT brain CT for balance problems, which showed I had hydrocephalus. I was very anxious about this sudden diagnosis as it followed a long period of illness. Mr Gnanalingham was instantly very reassuring, he went through my scan in great detail with me, explaining what was visible in very clear, non-medical terms to ensure I understood it. He was genuinely interested in my concerns and listened to all my worries. He has an excellent manner, asked me about my job and family and is far more approachable than other consultants and doctors I have met with before. His straight forward manner in assuring me in simple words like ‘you’re not going to die from this’ and ‘I look at brain scans every day - I assure you’ meant I was able to believe him. He was also excellent in recommending alternative treatment and very understanding about my concerns regarding my job and work pressures. I was sent a copy of all correspondence to my doctor which again was very reassuring and means I feel in control of my health. Although my balance issues are not fully sorted, I know I can contact him in the future, if required.

I recently needed a spinal injection, I was booked into the Alexander hospital where Dr Gnanalingham did the procedure. I could not fault the care and attention I received from the hospital and Dr Gnanalingham. I have also had an operation on my back five years ago, which Dr Gnanalingham also performed. I can honestly say I could not have been in better hands. Dr Gnanalingham’s secretary was also very helpful and caring, keeping me updated. I would definitely recommend Dr Gnanalingham , you will be in very safe hands.
