This man is just like a diamond. I do not know how to explain how good he is and in his presence you just feel like there is nothing he doesnt know. The amount of knowledge and skill he has and yet he can still interact with individuals who are genuinely illiterate and from a very different class than him as if he is a family friend. You never feel he has anything but the patients best interests at heart. His manner is just unbelievable, even when he tells you his first name you just feel such a respect for the man it feels inappropriate to use it as he deserves so much more. The support given by him and Andrea to my family has meant a mother of six, grandmother of 12 and great grandmother of 7 has been able to spend quality time as the family head in a painfree manner. We will be forever in your debt. My utter respect that he still treats NHS patients.

I have been under Mr Rutherford’s care for 8 years now and first saw him in 2015 when he diagnosed me with a benign meningioma. Since then, we watched and waited, though it became apparent last year that my tumour needed to come out. From the moment I met Mr Rutherford, all those years ago, I knew I was in the best hands ever and if, one day, I would need surgery then I had met the best man for the job! That day for surgery came on 24th February 2023. The words I would use to describe this wonderful man are exceptional neurosurgeon, kind, caring, personable, supportive, listened to all of my fears and reassured me on the spot so I didn’t need to worry about anything, has the most calm manner and explains things in such a way that you cannot fail to understand. He truly is a star ⭐️ and will remain on my pedestal for the rest of my life. My whole experience has been nothing short of excellent. I have felt so taken care of, not only by Mr Rutherford and his team, but the wonderful nurses on ICU, Hayley and Martha.

It was an utter shock to find I had a large epidermoid cyst in my brain. Mr Rutherford explained the procedure I needed with such clarity and empathy that I felt so positive and motivated to get through what would be the most difficult challenge of my life. I am blessed to have him as my surgeon, not only because he brilliant at what he does, but because he is one of the most kindest human beings I've had the pleasure of meeting.

To be under the care of Mr Scott Rutherford means you are in the greatest hands ever. Wonderful surgeon who listens and understands. His care and support is first class - he is a true miracle man when it comes to repairing a person! I was in a lot of pain for years due to a spinal injury and he eliminated it all with a few hours of surgery. I can never thank Mr Rutherford enough - he gave me my life back. He really is “Simply the Best” and I feel extremely fortune to have had him as my surgeon. As for the nurses at the Salford Royal that cared for me after surgery - wonderful!
