Brilliant advice and care as always provided by Mr Kanna Gnanalingham. He listens to you and has a lovely manner. He put me at ease when I had my recent bilateral steroid injection into my neck at The Alexandra Hospital, Cheadle. He kept me very calm with his lovely manner.
I must also thank Vaani, Mr Kanna Gnanalingham PA. She keeps in contact with regular emails or by telephone asking about my wellbeing. Mr Kanna Gnanalingham and Vanni are a wonderful team and should be proud of themselves.
I would highly recommend Mr Gnanalingham.

Very pleased with the care I received after suffering back and sciatica pains. Following recommendation from my physio my insurance company booked me in to see Mr Gnanalingham. Booked in for first consultation and MRI on the same weekend and then a follow up Zoom call on the Monday to discuss the results. When there was clearly a worsening of symptoms I was promptly booked in for spinal injections at the end of September.
After the injections I had a few follow up calls, advice on changing medication and kept going with physio. Even when things were clearly improving he maintained a follow up until I was several weeks off medication, back to work full time and had been signed off by my physio. And at that point he was very reassuring in saying I could contact him if I had any problems in the future.

If you are looking for a doctor who really listens to you and has a lovely manner then Mr Gnanalingham is the best .
I had several symptoms and he joined all the dots and the problem he couldn’t deal with he introduced me to the right person. He dealt with it efficiently and professionally . He also dealt with different health authorities so I could get the best care.

I have recently been a patient of Mr. Gnanalingham at the ManchesterNeuro Clinic. I have a history of chronic back pain. The treatment I have received has been excellent.

After studying Medicine in Manchester, Mr Gnanalingham completed his Neurosurgical training in London. This included specialist training in Complex spinal surgery, Pituitary and Skull base surgery, at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. He learned minimally invasive techniques at several centres in the UK and US and was appointed as a Consultant at the Greater Manchester Neuroscience Centre at Salford Royal Foundation Trust (SRFT) in 2005. He is also an honorary senior lecturer at the University of Manchester.
His sub-speciality interests include pituitary, anterior skull base and complex spine surgery, utilising minimally invasive techniques. He is the lead consultant for Pituitary surgery in Manchester and introduced the endoscopic approach to the region.
With respect to the spine, Mr Gnanalingham has particular interests in degenerative spinal disease, spinal trauma, tumours, spinal arthroplasty and other motion preserving technologies. He has a preference for minimally invasive spinal approaches that minimise post-operative pain and speed up post-operative recovery.
In recognition of his expertise, Mr Gnanalingham is frequently invited to speak at national and international meetings and conduct workshops for spinal and pituitary disorders. He offers an international fellowship in minimally invasive surgery. He has a strong interest in clinical and basic science research in Neuroscience, qualified to a doctorate level, with over 100 publications and international presentations.
