Mr James Gibbs was recommended to me and I would pass on the recommendation to others. I found Mr Gibbs a very calm person who is able to put your fears or concerns at rest. He is a very professional surgeon and gives a lot of his time to his patients. His work is artistry, I have the finest of scar imaginable! Thank you. The Montefoire Hospital has great staff and the care nurses are wonderful and the food delicious, however, their administration department could do with an overhaul ;)

I had a total hip replacement, and was very well looked after by everyone at the hospital. Everything was explained clearly to me, the after care was excellent and I felt like I was in good hands throughout. It is major surgery, but Mr Gibbs was clearly very experienced and confident in his work, which helped me feel comfortable about the procedure.

An excellent surgeon. I had both knee replacements within 4 months and he explained what would happen very clearly and answered any questions that I had. I was seen both as an NHS patient for one knee and a private patient for the other and the care was exactly the same. I am now 6 months post the first and 3 months post the second and in the process of strengthening and retraining the leg muscles but have no knee pain. I was told that it could take up to a year for a complete recovery so I believe I've had an excellent result so quickly. I would highly recommend seeing Mr Gibbs for any orthopaedic opinion.

Fantastic Surgeon. Just had Total Hip Replacement and Mr Gibbs was caring, considerate but above all explained everything in honest but direct way. After only 3 weeks walking without any kind of aid and best of all, no pain. I would highly recommend Mr Gibbs and would have no hesitation in seeing him again if the need arose.

I cannot thank enough Mr Gibbs, his Anaesthetist, the nursing team, and physio team for the most professional, relaxing experience a total hip replacement could be. Every step was explained thoroughly and the process went according to the stated plan. I am a retired nurse so I could be hypercritical of my colleagues but I could not fault your team. I am 3 weeks and 3 days post surgery and walking over a mile twice a day pain free without stick or crutches. The wound is tender but healed and the bruising now minimal. I would highly recommend this team. But I would like to add a note to any readers of this review to do your exercises as given by your physio team and do them no matter how trivial they appear because I am sure this has helped my recovery. Thank you all.
